I just need someplace to vent. I work for a small CPA firm, as in total of 10 people, 5 of which are CPAs. We do both taxes and nonprofit and governmental audits. I worked on a small nonprofit audit during tax season. I turned it in for partner review on March 11th. Today, I got it back with review notes and got my butt chewed because I hadn’t sent out the draft statements or representation letter to the client before I gave the partner the audit to review. This particular partner is the only one out of three that wants the draft statements and rep letter out before he reviews it. Although, I don’t like doing this, I usually do because it usually only takes him a day or two to review it. But I knew this one would sit for a while due to tax season. It really put me in a bad mood this morning and has been bothering me since. Ok my rant is over.

Next time just ask at every stage when he/she wants things done. That way he can't complain when it's not done his way.

“Why didn't you file the rep letter?????!!!!”

…”because you told me to wait until you reviewed the work.”

    BOOM. Denied.
