With the end of the year approaching I’m very grateful. Even though, I have yet to pass a section I am extremely hopeful and motivated to continue this marathon. I’ve raised my AUD score by 21 pts and my BEC score by 18 pts. I know there are a lot of candidates out there in a similar situation. I want to encourage everyone in my situation to keep going. It might take you a couple of times, but you are making progress and you should be really proud of yourselves. I’ll be retaking BEC in January, so I’ll be hitting the books soon.

Happy Holidays! Keep the faith. We can do this 🙂

    AUD: 41 (2010), 62 (2012)

    BEC: 51 (2010), 69 (2012)

    FAR: 48 (2010), 55 (2012)

    REG:52 (2010)

Thank you @karma87. It's been over a year for me and I'm not demotivated whatsoever. I only passed REG (after busting my &$%@) and just failed BEC again. Honestly, I know it sounds weird, but I'm actually learning something each time I take these exams regardless of the outcome.

It's important for us to think about the big picture and test ourselves, beyond the exam, as to why we're doing this and what we intend to contribute to the industry and society beyond our love of rules & numbers. Your post is perfect and it's important for many of us to read.

    Thanks!

@ AlmondCoins we definitely need to look at the bigger picture and make sure this is the direction we really want to pursue. This exam is a marathon not a sprint. We are all in this together. Glad I could help 🙂

That is a great way to look at it. Some people take the exam 18 times before finally passing. Those who passed on their first try and those who pass after their _th try get the exact same title. Good luck to both of y'all and keep up that amazing attitude!

@ KelzMS you made a great point! Its the same title Name_CPA. @ vanessa000abc and @Ag12thman giving up is definitely not an option. We have to keep going, we can defeat this monster of an exam. All the best to everyone! 🙂

Always a positive way to look at things. I am obviously hoping I make it through in as little time as possible but, on the flip side, I see people that take years and 15-20 attempts and I think… That is motivation and perseverance. If I'm hiring someone for a job one day, I don't think… Oh that person failed X times and is therefore less qualified. I'd think, wow, that right there is someone that doesn't give up and focuses on their goal.

Very important for everyone to find the positive angle and keep pushing forward. Negative attitudes are nothing but an obstacle in this journey.

    Great post, Karma!
