    Hi all,

I just took the exam yesterday. All I can say is ” ………SHOCK, SHOCK & SHOCK…..”, I used Becker 2011 and Wiley Test Bank 2012, Ninja Audio and Notes 2012 as my review course. I studied so hard for it and my average practice score is around 85-90%. I felt quit prepared. Guess what..! I couldnt believe myself what I saw on the exam. There were about less then 2% calculation questions, just add and subtract kinda of things. It is so weird as I progressed through the test, I kept looking at the title of my screen and asked myself, if this is really a BEC exam or something else (which I got no idea) ? I dont think I can make it this time, but I am not giving up. I just I dont know how am I going to study for it next time?. It is not because I didnt put enough time nor I dont know understand the materials but the exam questions are just so random and out of nowhere. The way questions asked is either right or wrong, and either you know it or you dont (there is no logic that you can work thru and try to answer it. After exam, I went straight back to the Becker book and tried to find the answers for it, I still coundnt find it. I just think if I should swicth to some other review courses? For my exam THIS ONE in particular, had I have more time, I still couldnt never be prepared for it because the questions were not covered in the material that I studied for ( it is just you are trying so hard looking to adopt a dog in a pig farm, if you know what i mean? It is just never there for you to adopt because you are looking in the wrong place :(.

I felt like it is just like a draw on a lottery, if you are lucky enough, you will get the exam questions that you are prepared for.

    Sigh..

I've been shocked to the extent I almost have crapped my pants after every single exam. I thought there was not even a remote possibility of passing BEC, but I somwhow pulled out a 79….You should join the Manueloliebers club! You get a free pillow to take your napuela!

CPA888 could I e-mail you? I had a really quick question about variances. I take the test tomorrow and you seem to be pretty knowledgeable about them if you made 90% on prac tests

Also – do you think using a year old version of Becker hurt you at all?

After I took the BEC test, my wife who was waiting for me outside wanted to know how I did. I remember telling her that they gave me the wrong test. A week later I got my score and somehow I got 82. Untill this day I am not sure what to make out of that BEC experience. I hated studying it and I hated the exam and confused about my score. It was a weird experience.

    FAR: 77
    AUD: 81
    BEC: 82
    REG: 78

Wow this thread has made me want to stop reviewing today haha… I take the test tomorrow and it sounds like reviewing today is pointless if the test is so off topic

Honestly thats the worst thing about these tests, I can never even guess a range outside of 50-85 and if any one of those scores comes up on release date I can't even say I would be surprised. I've heard that more often it's how you feel going into the exam than coming out of it.

    FAR 4/9/12- PASSED
    BEC 7/13/12- PASSED
    AUD 8/16/12- Ughhh 71, Rematch: 90!!!
    REG-12/6/12 PASSED

I felt the same way as you CPA88888! I took the exam this week and it was not a lot of calculations and the questions are quite random…I also revisited Becker and CPAexcel test bank trying to find the answer for some of the questions…was not feeling good about it plus I didn't finish my 3rd written question 🙁 Well, we'll just have to wait and see what the results are but I'm kind of expecting already that I might have to take BEC again Oct/Nov.

I just took the exam today and I honestly felt the exact same way. I thought I was prepared for the exam, and got blown away by what was on there. None of it seemed like it was in Becker, and there were hardly any calculations. I have no idea what I couldve done different for the exam. Maybe by some miracle I passed? Doubt it.

Yup, I felt the same way and I knew that Becker 2012 book front to back, I even studied the Internal Auditing section pretty hard… I'd say about 20% of my exam was calculations and I didn't get a single overhead variance question (neither material, labor or overhead). 2 of the 3 writing questions I had never heard of in my life; however, I felt pretty good walking out for some reason, I think it was because I was so prepared and knew there was no way I could have studied Becker any harder.

People say this exam is the easiest, I disagree, I think Auditing is the easiest. Still don't know my score but if I fail I'm going to be pretty upset.
