BEC – Becker & NINJA notes?

I’m scheduled to take BEC on 8/17 and I’d like to do everything I can to hopefully crank through it the first time. Currently, I’ve been using just Becker, but I’m wondering if I should buy the NINJA notes for BEC too? I’ve already been through all of the lectures (though I didn’t work all of the questions while going through). I plan on going through the lectures again and working all of the questions. I have taken BEC before but it was almost 5 years ago, before I walked away from the exam for 4 years, and I scored a 73 (took exam 9 days after testing on Audit). So, I guess my question is, is there anyone who has purchased the NINJA notes and found them to be a great benefit on top of Becker? I’m due to have baby #2 about 2 weeks after Q3 scores will come out, so it would be REALLY nice if I can just get through BEC this time and not have to look back!

I liked the Ninja notes for BEC, expecially for the IT portion. This was an area that I was struggling with after using both Becker and Wiley. I'd think I understood it but then miss a lot of problems from the Becker Passmaster and Wiley test bank. I read thru the Ninja IT notes 3 or 4 times and did all the problems again. It suddenly made sense, and I don't thik I missed a single IT problem on the exam.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I wouldn't bother to do the lectures again. I would aim to do every Becker MCQ twice and you'll be fine. I used Becker and also the Wiley book just for the MCQ. After completing 2 exams I won't be buying anymore Wiley books, I just don't feel it added that great of a benefit.

You should watch the Becker video for the written communications, they really do a great job of spelling out exactly how to get full credit.

Thanks for the responses! I plan on working through the lectures again because I ended up taking a couple of week break from studying and I feel like I've lost so much, especially from the first couple of study units.

I used Becker (SO BORING!) and the NINJA notes for BEC. I think that the NINJA notes helped a lot! The information is organized differently and some topics are explained better than in Becker (IT especially). I honestly think the NINJA was the difference between passing and failing for me…I did pass with a 79 last window!

A few notes: I agree about not going back through the lectures…waste of time if you watched them once and got all the notes the first time around…focus on the MCQ and you should get enough info to pass. My particular exam had stuff from outer space on it, which made me kind of panic, but I still managed to pass…

Good luck and congrats on the upcoming baby 🙂

    BEC: 79 - April 2011
    FAR: 78 - May 2011
    AUD: 81 - May 2012
    REG: 79 - October 2012
    Ethics: Passed - March 2013
    I am finally DONE!

Thanks everyone! I'm finding that as I go back through the MCQ for the first study unit, I remember more than I thought I did… Maybe you guys are on to something with not repeating the lectures… I'll probably just review the ones I find that I'm especially weak on.
