I'm gonna start studying for this section tomorrow! Scheduled for October 1st!!!!
good luck on BEC, Florida_Candidate! I just started BEC studies and I'm scheduled for 10/2.
I just added Capital Budgeting to my BEC notes (NPV, IRR, ARR, Payback Period, Present Value, etc). If you recently purchased the BEC notes, e-mail me and I'll send them to you.
I will definitely be buying the notes a couple days before the exam, they helped for that last minute "quick hit" before AUD!
Do we get the notes of one section if we apply for the trial membership? im studying for BEC and it has a lot of formulas that are easy to forget. Also, if we apply for full membeship, do we get the study notes for all parts?
Thanks in advance , Jeff
Planning on starting to study for another and hopefully last round w/ BEC. The highest I've ever received is a 72. All my previous attempts were with Becker. I have Yaeger on order. Hopefully, it can help me push past that 75.
@zooyuka - I am sure it will. Good luck!!
I just need to vent a little...I HATE variances! I can't seem to focus. I have no problems with the simple DL & DM variances, but the 3 factor overhead variances are driving me nuts! aaaaaah!!
im in that topic now.......... variances are the hardest part for me so far.....
Jeff: I have a questions about BEC exam. I know that for AUD, REG and FAR if you take the exam in wave 1 you can be pushed to wave 2 when it comes to the score release. Does this happen with BEC as well? Or only with the other three since they have simulations. ???
THANK YOU
@Basia A, you will not be pushed to a later wave for BEC. If you take by the "cut-off" of wave 1 you'll be in wave 1...
Thank you Trevor :)
Do you know when is the cut off for wave 1 for the October/November window?
The thought is somewhere around the 7th in the second testing month, but some came out this window where people had taken it as late as 8/12... I would say schedule it in the first week and you'll be in.
Thank you... I want to take the exam in the first wave and get my scores in November... This is my last exam and I really don't want to wait till Christmas to find out my score :)
I hear that, I am hoping I passed FAR so when I sit for REG it'll be my last - hopefully be in wave one and find out by my birthday! (day after thanksgiving this year)
"if a limited partner dies, WHO CARES!"
tehe... sorry I'm kinda bored right now.... trudging through B1...
starting B2.... someone come keep me company in this BEC thread :D
I'm sure it'll pick up more once those wave2 scores from July/August are released, then people can REALLY focus on studying BEC :D
Hello Guys
I live in California and I took the BEC exam on Aug 29th and when should I expect my score releases?
Does anyone having hard time on this exam?
Does BEC exam curved?
Thanks
Hi kibryant168. We can expect the score release by Monday, September 13th.
Jeff's predictions say the 15th....
For those of you who took BEC already, is timing that much of an issue? I know most people say FAR is the big one for people running out of time, but it seems like doing these MCQ I am taking more than 2 minutes per problem to calculate them. It's the first time through, so I'm sure once I get the hang of what data to use from the problem the calculations will go quicker. Just concerned for the time being.
@ herbert - where is this demo???? :D
@ studyingismynewhobby - I think if you just do enough questions they start to go fast, I'm ALWAYS slower when I start working the MCQ's vs. right before the exam where I've basically gotten used to most of the question formats...
Hey guys
Thank you for quick replies!
Now, Does BEC Exam curved?
Thanks
Does anybody knows if the Ethics exam is required in Florida in order to be licensed?
@ Kobe - it really depends on your definition of curved, see an explanation of AICPA grading here:
https://www.aicpa.org/BecomeACPA/CPAExam/PsychometricsandScoring/ScoringInformation/DownloadableDocuments/How_the_CPA_Exam_is_Scored.pdf
@ vaponte - no idea, but I'm also in Florida and curious, let me know when you find out! ;D
@ Florida cand
Thank you for your website, my definition of curved is that "you don't get what you get- you scored 75% doesn't mean you get 75% on your final score, the examiners take consideration on how other candidates performed and do a some kind like a bell curve similar to what we faced in universities...average is like a B or B-"
My question is since BEC only contains MCQs, is there a possibility they will post your actual score on the exam online?
Thanks
I am at the right forum for CPA as in Cost Per Action marketing?
@Kobe - if you read the guide it says how each multiple choice question have different point values, so no you don't have to get 75% of the questions right, you just have to get 75 points, it's a bit more complicated than that. Each multiple choice question has different point values... read the guide it explains it really well!
