BEC Exam Grading

    Hey guys,

I couldn’t find the answer to this anywhere so I thought I’d ask. I took BEC last week and feel pretty good about it (even though that might be a bad sign judging from the way people normally feel after leaving the exam…)

Anyway, I had all of the written communication portions filled out and was just putting the finishing touches on my last one when time ran out and the exam kicked over to the survey. As long as all the WC fields were filled out, they should be submitted, right? Or do you have to go through and hit “exit” up at the top in order for the exam to accept your writing? I can’t find the answer to this anywhere, but I assume that if the test shuts off, everything already written in the FIELDS 🙂 will be saved. The wait for score release is soooo stressful…

I don't see why it wouldn't be saved. I've had time run out while completing the other sections without harm. I took BEC earlier this week and let time kick over as I frantically finished my final sentence.

I'm not worried. If that was the way the system was setup, you'd be seeing a lot more warnings from the review courses and others on this site to make sure to hit the button to let it save before time ran out.

Why are you taking over 3 hours! If you fail it's your fault. You knew the rules.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are no rules about working longer than 3 hours, because it is not possible due to the way the test is designed. Of course being a super hacker is frowned upon.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

OP- that is EXACTLY what happened to me. I was trying to make my final edit on one of my SIMs when the exam closed on me. I also was worried, but my worries ended up for nothing. So you should be fine. Good luck!

@cook7166 Why wouldn't you want to take the fully alloted time to make sure you are producing the best product? Attention to detail is an important skill to have in this profession. Thanks for the constructive comments!

FYI :Quit Button: Candidates often hit the “Quit Button” instead of the “Continue Button” when they have finished the Exam. When this happens, they do not receive the survey and become concerned that their examination will not be scored. Here’s the deal: It does not matter which button you hit, or if the time runs out before you click any button, as everything is automatically saved and forwarded to the AICPA for scoring.

Not completing the survey has no effect on the scoring of your Exam. When you check out, the administrator may tell you that there is a red X beside your name, indicating that you have not finished the Exam. This simply means that the survey was not completed.

    I found it on https://nasba.org/features/managing-test-anxiety-part-iii-facing-the-unexpected/

    BEC 05/12/14 77
    REG 08/25/14 82
    FAR 11/25/14 80
    AUD 02/25/15 72, 05/15/15 98! DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
