BEC experience

I took BEC this last Saturday and I am still numb. I went in very confident as i had really prepared well. The first testlet was medium, second testlet was very tough ( for me) and the third one was medium and the WC was medium. I did not have a good feeling at the end because the second testlet threw me off guard. I could not recognise a lot of questions and i had to do some guesswork for atleast 10 questions.

I use Becker study materials which helped me immensely for AUD. Now I am very confused i.e. whether the questions were really tough or was it easy in general but tougher for me since it was not covered in Becker. I dont think there is ever a way to find this out.

Any experiences to share would be welcome as i am really not feeling confident that i will pass. Worse is the waiting time before i know the result as i cannot concentrate on REG which is my next target for April.

    An Ohio candidate.

    I had the same experience.

I took the first part and it was easy.

Second part threw me off completely with ratios and stuff that i never heard of.

    and third was med.

I got a 72 and planning on taking it again in April.

    FAR - 60(Spring 2014)
    BEC - 73 (Spring/Winter) 2014)
    REG - Summer 2014
    AUD - Summer 2014

Mine was totally different. 1st testlet – grinded through it, took 45 minutes 2nd testlet – was a breeze answered first 15 no problem and had to go back through 3 after completing the 24, took about 20-25 min. 3rd testlet – Was a little difficult but not nearly as tough as the first. Had about 65 minutes to complete writing sections. This test is going to kill me. Scores 73, 74, 70, 71. Must find a way to get over the hump.

    Took on 2/16/14

    BEC 80 (2/16/14)
    AUD 87 (4/1/15)

Had the same experience. Felt like I went a perfect 24 for 24 on the first testlet. 2nd testlet was insanely hard. 3rd testlet was almost as hard, but maybe fractionally easier. Written communications were no problem. I'm in the same boat as you. Took AUD using Becker and felt well prepared, no surprises. MCQ's prepared me well and sims were on point. Ended up getting a 92. For BEC, I felt cheated. I knew the Becker material inside and out getting 90+% on multiple choice and 80+% on both practice tests. Thought i was prepared but apparently not. The questions seemed extremely odd, and I just left Prometric feeling like I could have gotten anywhere between a 60 and a 90. No f***ing clue. Anxiously awaiting my score. And like you, I am an Ohio candidate also.

I passed in Ohio as well.

BEC is like that… easily the most difficult section of the four to get a feel for how you did upon its completion.

I would also venture to say that it has the highest number of candidates who felt like they did terrible and actually passed compared to any other section, so that should be in your favor.

I suppose most candidates would say I lucked out in that I had an extremely high number of theory questions and VERY few calculation questions (variances, etc.). I will also say that there were at least TWO mcq's regarding content mentioned NOWHERE in Becker.

    A 99

Wow smeech very impressive scores, congrats. I had 3 or 4 questions for material that wasn't touched at all in Becker. If that means I got a score anywhere near yours, I'll take it. For now, I can only hope.
