Not sure what to focus on. I have the exam May 29 for the second time. First time I got 64. I’ve done a bunch of questions and made flash cards but when I go and do Becker progress tests I am averaging about 67 still. I just don’t know how to be able to pass this test =/

I do a minimum of 40 questions everyday and study at least an hour on my lunch break and then 6 hours over the weekend. Currently using Becker.

I am in the sam boat, in that, I scored a 74 and I had tear it all down and re-study everything from the beginning. My exam is 5/30 and I just started my first week of final review section by section. You need to figureout why you are only getting 67% correct. Looking at the answers/explanation, did you missed the question because you:

    A) misunderstood the question and need to read the questions carefully.

    B) Just don't understand the concept, in which case you need to spend some time on going over the concepts.

Also, remember that you MUST re study everything as if he didn't know the stuff. You MUST avg trending 80%+ on the test bank questions in order to have a good chance to pass. Otherwise, I wouldn't even show-up to prometrics unless you “just want to experience” the Test Enviroment. Just my 2 cents

Hello friend…Beckers have good study material you just need to go through chapters thoroughly & practice questions to test you preparation. BEC is probably easy to pass than other Big 3….I suggest don't worry much you will pass definitely if clear with concepts..

I agree with YokoBee about knowing why you are getting the questions wrong. It is better to take time to understand why it is or isn't then memorizing formulas or definitions. A lot of formulas are similar and you can apply the logic to others if you understand just one. I don't know about the trending score thing. When I use Becker progress tests I go back and look at why I got those wrong and I also write the numbers down I was iffy about when taking the test and go find out why I got it right (and make sure I got it right for the correct reason.)

I do think Becker is lacking a little in the BEC section but I do not read the book cover to cover. I normally go to the lectures and then start the questions and learn from those. If I get something wrong I will go and look in the book and read that section because I must be lacking knowledge in that area. I have decided to supplement with NINJA my 3rd time around for BEC to try a new study style.

Lastly, don't let anyone tell you BEC is the easiest or hardest section because they do not have your background or knowledge. BEC is the hardest for me because I lack in economics and FAR is easiest for me because my job deals with financials 80% of the month. (Sorry this just irks me. It has kind of developed into a pet peeve of mine since I have been studying for the CPA.)

    Hope this Helps!
