I passed FAR back in January, waiting on AUD score, and am currently studying for BEC. I take it 4/4/2013. Any tips from those who have taking that one? I have Becker, Ninja notes, and Ninja audio? Before I started studying for any section, I thought BEC was one of the easier ones, but after talking to several people who have taken it, I feel a little more anxious for this one! How does it compare to FAR?

    FAR: 79 (Becker basic)
AUD: 68 (Becker basic), 91 (Becker, WTB, NINJA)
BEC: 64 (blind), 81 (Becker, WTB, NINJA)
REG: 68 (Becker basic), 73 (Becker, WTB, NINJA), REMATCH 2/27

Well I havent taken BEC yet, Im actually taking it tomorrow afternoon. But I've spent the entire February studying for it. I dont know if I'm ready, but I gotta give it a go. My suggestion for people who are just beginning to study for it is to really understand the concepts. I guess you can say this is true for all the sections, but don't make the mistake that for BEC you can just get away with memorizing formulas. There are like literally a million formulas on this exam. If you know the reasoning behind the formulas, you can not only save time from memorizing them, but also you can tie them together.

    FAR-81!!
    AUD-69, Retake: 84!!
    REG-86!!
    BEC-81!!

@futureARcpa You have an EXCELLENT combination of study materials! I used Becker regular course and Final Review for all four parts. For FAR I used the NINJA notes and audio. I listened to the audio over and over and over while I was at work. And it worked!

I still believe that working MC's until your eyeballs are about to pop out and you puke MC's, you should do well. I am not talking working them one time either. MC's until you puke, clean it up and do more. I remember taking BEC finishing all of the MC testlets and then thinking. Man I studied such and such and there was not one MC. And then BANG. There was a WC on a topic that I knew frontwards, backwards and sideways.

    Good Luck!

As @candothis mentions you have a very good study combo. I would suggest this: listen all the lectures first before doing anything. Ok… so, take a chapter a day and just listen to the lectures. Repeat this like for two weeks before you start the real study and working the MC's. That is, if you the time coordinate that before the test. Then, after all the lectures have been heard; start studying each chapter individually.

BEC has A LOT of logical and analytical reasoning that maybe, the first time you hear, it won't make sense and you will feel overwhelmed. But once you hear it twice or thrice it will come together gradually.

Now when you start with each chapter individually, work the mc's and the sims.

    Then review and repeat.

Listen, study, review, repeat… This is key value chain study method for BEC.

I'll let you know if it paid off in a couple of weeks.

    B - 62, 70, 72, 79!!!
    A - 68, 81
    R - 70, 82
    F - 84

Now I am scared to take this exam 🙁 … My Wiley expired and I'm only using Becker now, which most say that it isn't enough to pass BEC… err!

I used only Becker and studied for 2 weeks. You'll all be fine. BEC is an amalgamation of “left-over” business topics. None are explored any further than a cursory level. Economics, finance, it, cost accounting…easy stuff. Don't sweat it.

My best advice would be to get the Wiley Test bank for BEC and pound questions nonstop.

I took BEC first with just Becker, and was grossly unprepared.

Then Becker expired, and I used Wiley and improved dramatically.

Get the Wiley TB! Studied with Becker the first time, there were so much material they didn't cover (scored 70). Wiley will present the concepts and computations in a different way, plus it includes a ton of IT material not in Becker. Don't under estimate this section, be patient with figuring out the compuations.

Also just starting to study BEC. My test is on 4/1, just took AUD last week. I'm using both Becker and Wiley Test Bank. I'm working through B-1 right now, and its really helping me to actually read the book. Just a suggestion…
