    @h0wdyus

    Incorrect

The answer is B. Comparable sales.

“The use of comparable sales is not an income approach to valuation of a business, it is a market approach. Under the comparable sales approach, the value of a business is determined by comparing it to other entities with comparable characteristics for which the value is more readily determinable.”

    This was a tricky one

@ Casa You are correct. I was so depressed walking out of BEC. The questions were out of the blue.

FYI – I felt I got a 50 walking out of that exam. When I saw my score, I was more shocked than anyone.

I don't think BEC is too bad if you are able to apply all of the formulas. If you spend too much time memorizing the formulas and not enough time practicing them by doing lots of MCQs then you probably wont do well. The second time I took the test, I was surprised at how easy I felt it was.

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd

I agree with Casagarber. BEC is the toughest Beast out there. It is my last test and I was hoping to pass it on may 30th. I scored a 74 :(. Retaking it July 18. I'm caught between reading the Becer chapters over and over again or working MCQ. I own Beckers, Wiley test bank and NinJa MCQ and book……

You guys should try Lambers too. I thought they had pretty good questions. I did about all their questions for the cost accounting section, which were good in my opinion.

B1-B3 of Becker absolutely massacred me. I was ready to throw in the towell. only got through about 25% of the homework and will have to do the rest in review time. Thankfully started B4 today and mike brown explained the difference between hardware and software. Thank goodness, I needed this.

Am I the only one who feels totally checked out of everything except studying? My test is in 2 weeks from Friday and I'm basically putting off work to study. Whoops.

I'm in corporate accounting so there is a mad dash to get information on the previous month out in the first 12 business days of the following month. That last week or so I do some other busy work…well….not so much this month with my exam scheduled for July 11th. I've been doing cost acctg MCQs..and have been doing miserably at them. I'll admit that I haven't put a lot of effort into study this section just because of all the formulas.

What are you doing to study cost acctg? Are just going to pray for the best on this section on exam day?

In the beginning, I did the same. I prayed for a miracle in the cost accounting sections, and kept studying everything else. I soon realized what a mistake that was. All practice exams include cost accounting questions. You can't just ignore them. So I took out a notepad and wrote all the formulas down. I studied them, and now am tackling those questions. Good luck.

I have the formulas on note cards along with all the other formulas from my study materials.

My plan for the next few nights is to focus on cost MCQs and homework from the end of the related study chapter until I am able to do them without having to peek at formulas.

For the people who are sitting for this test for the first time…how often are you going back and reviewing prior material as you get through the new stuff? I have been doing okay on everything (scoring in the high 60's to 70s) for sections B1-B3 and I'm just about done with B4. My plan was to start waking up at 5:00am every weekday and do a 50 MCQ progress test over everything, up until the test day. How do you guys approach it?

Amanda, I am going to approach this exam like i did for FAR.. starting 2 weeks after I began studying for FAR, I began going into work around 7AM and practiced questions from 7-9AM and i also rewrote my notes prior to doing questions for each section (not sure how becker is broken up, but this worked for Gleim). By the the time I hit my final review i was on my 3rd time seeing the questions.

I really hope this works for BEC, but right now I'm struggling with how to deal with all the vocabulary terms and formulas. I think it's just me not being able to get back into the swing of things and hopefully it comes around soon. lol
