    @h0wdyus

    Incorrect

The answer is B. Comparable sales.

“The use of comparable sales is not an income approach to valuation of a business, it is a market approach. Under the comparable sales approach, the value of a business is determined by comparing it to other entities with comparable characteristics for which the value is more readily determinable.”

    This was a tricky one

BEC is my first test 7/7, taking the long weekend to study for it. I've completed B1, B2, B4, B5. Gonna finish B6 by Tuesday and go back for B3.

My strong points are B1 COSO ERM, B5 Economic Concepts

My weak point- B2, cost accounting

Information Tech B4 is just all memorization.

I'll be hanging around this board for the next month

Can anyone else using Becker tell me if they felt B1 was just horrible? Maybe I feel overwhelmed because this is my first test but I feel like so much was thrown at me. I spent a week on B1 and going forward I need to cover two sections a week to stay on schedule with the live class I'm doing. Working full time and trying to study 30 hours a week… I feel like it's tax season all over again!

I think it depends for B1, I just came out of auditing class and COSO and ERM was covered heavily by my professor. Are you strong in cost accounting? B2 and B3 will take forever. B2 took me a long time. My advice would be go for B4, B5, B6 and finish them. Then go back for B2 and B3.

Since I'm doing live classes I'm going in order because that's how it is covered in the classes. I have lecture for B2 & B3 tomorrow. I'm not too bad with cost accounting, at least I did okay in college when I took it. But that was four years ago.

I think trying to memorize all this COSO and ERM stuff has been the most difficult for me.

Found out yesterday failed BEC….yet again. Just need this one done before I can move on because it has always been the most difficult for me. The worst part is, once upon a time I had FAR and REG passed. Looks like it is back to Roger and studying my days away. What is everyone's approach who uses Roger? I am using the NINJA MCQs as well. Good luck all. Glad we are in this journey together!

BEC - TOO MANY FAILS TO LIST! July 2015 I WILL GET IT!
AUD - AUG 2015- NEVER PASSED!
    FAR - LOST CREDIT
    REG - PASSED

I'm going through Becker B1 and was fine until I got to all of the math. I passed this test 2 and a half years ago so unfortunately I don't remember too much. Of course the more I go through the multiple choice, the more I'm able to memorize the formulas and understand the concepts, but it's kinda frustrating. My test is in less than a month so I just gotta power through it all.

I think I'm going to do B2 and B3 last, like some of you have pointed out. Cost accounting isn't my strength–I got a C in college. Haha. Good luck everyone!

@ jakeeee –> This is my first test. I agree with you on B2 and B3. I got a C in cost accounting in college also. I learned nothing, my professor was just old and passed everyone. it was tragic. I've learned more watching the lecture than a whole semester. B4, B5 have been going pretty fast. Gonna finish B6 by mid week hopefully. One month from today Ill be testing

@CPAin14 – Sounds like a majority of my professors in college. Haha. Looks like you'll have plenty of time to drill the MC questions and memorize everything! Good luck!!

I can FINALLY focus on BEC now that I know I'm done with FAR. I tried to get through F1 over the week but I wasn't very successful šŸ™‚ Spent 5 hours studying today and reread everything, took detailed notes, and got halfway through the MCQs. Whoever said they hate COSO, I'm with you- I hate it. Hate it, hate it, hate it. I'm taking my test on July 3rd so I need to get through B1, B2, and start B3 this week!

In the Q2 FAR study group, we would post questions for people to answer and then give the answer. Some of them came from Wiley/Becker but a lot of them were more conceptual ie- what are the 4 criteria for revenue recognition. It really helped to reinforce concepts! If anyone is interested, we should get that started šŸ™‚
