    Angelwatch – B

They are asking for the labor efficiency, not labor costs, so increasing the machine downtime will result in increased time to produce the product and an unfavorable labor efficiency.

    B. Thanks for the question Angelwatch.

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

B is correct. Becker calls it a “logic” question where you need to think about cause and effect and the type of variance involved. That's why A is not correct. It's referring to a different type of variance.

Alright everyone, I just got back from my test. It was BRUTAL, and I really feel like I failed. There were several questions with topics I felt were completely new, and the written communications were impossible. Which sucks because, since I usually score strongly on that section, I was kind of counting on it to help boost my score. Leave MORE than 30 mins for that testlet. I literally tested up until the last second and then collapsed in the car.

I'll be taking my downtime off to make my wedding invitations and decide if I'm going to keep studying this exam for a potential Q2 re-exam, or if I'm going to move on to FAR. Any suggestions?

    Exam:I'm done 🙂 🙂 🙂
    REG - 71 (2/22/14); 67 (4/3/14); 74 (8/29/15); 83 (2/29/16)!!!
    BEC - 72 (5/24/14); 85 (1/3/15)!!!!
    AUD - 72 (8/23/14); 76 (10/15/14)!!!
    FAR - 77 (5/26/15)!!!

Started in 2013 using Kaplan and failed REG, REG, BEC, AUD. Switched to NINJA suite in Sept 2014 and passed AUD...then BEC...then FAR!
REG took 2 tries but I finally got it in too!
I'm a hard convert - Using NINJA method with NINJA video/book/notes/MCQ

    Education: Check
    Experience: 3 months left! I hit 4 years on May 30 🙂

hey JS867, how do you feel the balance between theory and calculation questions were?

@JS — I recommend you not jumping to FAR. FAR is an entire journey separate on its own which is extremely time consuming. I would recommend sticking with one and knocking it out before moving onto another.

From what the AICPA states, your knowledge content is not really the primary focus of where your 15 points are derived from on the WC section. If you can write a clear and concise email in the workplace, you can score points there.

    @ JS

I would just move onto FAR. The results aren't coming for a month. If you start restudying and end up passing BEC it will be a wasted month. You put in alot of time already so if you do have to retake the info will come back. After I took AUD I had a month wait and just started studying REG. When I found out I failed AUD, I was so mad that I pushed extra hard to make sure I pased REG.

Nothing you can do about BEC now, so just move on.

Just my opinion, but do what's best for you. Good luck and congratulations on the wedding. Thanks for posting questions on here and helping with group study.

Move on to FAR. You can't just suspend your studies for over a month. Circle back to BEC if the worst happens but you need as much time as possible for FAR.

JS, what materials did you use to study? You might have mentioned in prior posts but I missed it. Also, how much time did you spend during your studies would you say? Finally, without breaking the AICPA guidelines, are what areas would you recommend focusing on?

im freaking out because im taking my test on monday and someone posted that they took thier exam today and it was heavy on the theory and light on the conputations. i dont mind theory but when the questions are brutal they can be worse than the calculations

    @dsch.

Spend your final days studying your weak areas. Don't worry about how some person you don't even know interpreted their test. I saw that post and feel the same as you, but I'm not going to let it get into my head. Just do your thing, keep focused and hope for the best.

    Good luck

The only sales variance listed below that does not use contribution margin to compute results is:

    a. Market size variance.

    b. Sales volume variance.

    c. Market share variance.

    d. Sales price variance.

Here's a conceptual one for Ya dsch

ha i actually had trouble with this one. and i think the answer is sales price variance because if i remember correctly the formula for that is budgeted SP – Actual SP x actual units sold. However thats the only one of the forumulas i know out of those 4 choices
