That's a good score as you still have over three months left. Yeah, test actually expires today Ha. Cost accounting was something I wasn't looking towards, but I scored stronger on that area. Econ and IT were weaker, while operations mgt, cost acct, and governance was stronger. There is another category I forgot what it was but I'm sure I was either stronger or comparable in that area.

And how come you wait so long to do the progress tests? Isn't it hard to remember everything without continually doing them after every section?

why doesn't CM change with volume?

If I'm selling less units then my VC should be less thus changing my CM. What am I missing?

cpa8488. is it because cm uses FC which wouldnt matter with volume. say we have a cm of 5. which means SP is 10, and VC is 5. so regardless if we sell 10,000 units or 20,000 units, we still have a cm of 5?

    not really sure..

Totally forgot how much stuff there is to remember for the IT section. Some is fresh on my mind after taking Audit last week, but it is taking me forever to get through this section.

Nice, I don't watch lectures so I read a section a day and take a 30 question progress test. I've finished Econ/Goverance/IT in the last three days and have scored 73 on Econ, 76 on Goverance, and 66 on IT. Not all that great to be honest, but hope to be in the 80 range the second time around.

when doing the homework problems do you use the book for help or just answer without looking? I always look back at the book for guidance but I still score in the 70% area. Also, there are so many questions in each topic do you do all the questions?

Hi cpa, hope all is well!

I have use more a detailed approach with my studying.. I listen to the lecture of one subchapter, write my notes, then do the questions. I add more notes on top of the notes I already took based on the answers to the questions I get right OR wrong especially if they arent in my notes. I then rinse and repeat for each sub section. To answer your question, though, I do not look at the book for guidance while answering the questions.

I do end up answering all the questions, except for B2 beause that in itself had already taken me 6 hours and I was not going to spend any more time on the subject matter.

I hope that helps answer your question.

    Hey all,

I have been studying for BEC for about a week and half. I have been watching the lectures from Yaeger, taking notes, and doing the MCQ out of the Wiley textbook and also sprinkling in some of the NINJA MCQ on the particular subjects I'm going over. While I didn't find the video lectures to be too horrible for AUD and FAR, they did take up a lot of time that could have been devoted to doing more MCQ and Sims. Now I'm on the BEC videos and I feel as though I am just getting read the material that I could read from the book myself.

Which brings me to my question for anyone with some experience with the NINJA BEC book or that has abandoned video lectures. What is your guys' opinion on using strictly the NINJA BEC book/NINJA MCQ in place of watching the video lectures and using the Wiley textbook?

I have about a month left until test day and I have gotten through Corporate Governance and a little bit of IT. I just don't think that I am moving fast enough and I am not sure watching the lectures is going to be an effective use of my time going forward.
