    Hey guys!

I plan on taking BEC at the end of july. I’m currently using becker and ninja notes, how should I approach this?

I usually watch the Becker videos, then work the homework, and go back to areas in the book that I don’t understand. Then I use the ninja notes to solidify understanding and work problems. But i feel like more should be done, how did you guys approach the exam/ what are you doing to currently?

Any tips will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

I've actually just made the decision to ditch the videos. I'm going through the book and handouts taking my own notes, then I'll do a week of MCQs, then take a week to copy the NINJA notes, then MCQs until my eyes bleed. And NINJA Audio all along the way.

    FAR - 79 (11/27/13)
    AUD - 76 (2/1/14)
    REG - 77 (5/30/14)
    BEC - 88 (7/18/14)

    MN Ethics - 100% (3/9/14)

    AND DONE! 8/1/14

My procrastination process that I used for audit (and unfortunately I will have to use again for BEC because I sit on 7/17 and have not started studying yet):

    1. Watch/listen to the BLITZ video's from another71.com and take notes

    2. Take the diagnostic exam MCQs in Wiley's CPA excel.

    3. Repeat until all MCQ's and done (understand why things are wrong and right also) and Videos are watched

    4. Do a lot of Wiley's CPA excel TBS

I did this for the 5 days leading up to the auditing exam and passed with a 90.

For BEC do absolutely whatever it takes to memorize every single ratio and formula. It took me a couple days right before my exam, but it made all the difference in the world! As long as you're knocking out a ton of mcq's, know the ratios, and can write a complete sentence, you should be fine on BEC.

    FAR - 75
    AUD - 72; 87
    REG - 64; 74; 84
    BEC - 88

    Done!!

What I realize by reading through this forum is that people are quite different. So what works for some won't work for others.

I'm trying to get this over with. I dont have a sniper approach to the situation. Sniper's need to set up perfectly because they only get one shot. Me I'm just throwing bullets at the target and if I fail I fail.I'll pass next time. The amount of time I would have to put in to feel like I would pass with a 99 before going to prometric, well, I'm not interested in studying that much.

For me, I will never do a simulated test. I dont have test anxiety and feel comfortable taking tests, so when I do MCQ I want to know if it is correct or not right then. I do not at all see the point of working really hard on a question and then making my best guess and then doing 50 more questions before I see the result. If I do a question properly, I want my reasoning reinforced immediately and if I do it improperly I want to fix the issue immediately.

If you are doing something and it doesnt feel like it is working, change it up. I watched the videos for FAR. Solid waste of however long they were minus a few good lines. I thought they were good at the time, but in retrospect, I would have been better served by just doing MCQ and referencing the book.

If you don't mind going over thousands and thousands of MCQ's until you are scoring in the 90's consistently, that's one way to do it. I used the old Wiley Test bank (2013) and hardly relied on the Wiley book unless something wasn't making sense. I scored 81. I have a hard time paying attention to videos or merely reading, so I guess it depends on your learning style.

    FAR 59/76
    REG 72/75
    BEC 81
    AUD 72/82
