    Hey all,

    Hope everyone’s weekend is going well! On Monday, I take BEC for the first time which will *hopefully* be my last exam (waiting on my FAR score, Reg and Audit are done). Being my first time taking BEC, I don’t know what to expect from the writing questions. I have avoided practicing them because I want to smooth out other areas and I didn’t have much study time to begin with. Anyway, what is a good time allocation for the testlets? I hear recently the second and third are harder than the first, so something like 30/50/50/50?

    15 minutes per WC is recommended by Yaeger. Don't use bullet points in the WC. Your recommendation could be incorrect but it should relate to topic. Have a introduction para ( basically repeating what is being asked of you) , then pros and cons of the reco will be the second para, 3rd para will be conclusion reiterating what was requested and your advise and offer to help and contact your if needed.

    I took BEC this morning.. and it went like this.

    Testlet 1- Around 25 minutes.. pretty basic with maybe 2 tricky questions thrown in

    Testlets 2 and 3- Over an hour each… The second testlet was holy shit hard… Around half were multi-step calculations

    Written Section- Only had about 20 minutes for all three… 5 minutes left when I got to the third one 🙁

    BEC was a lot more difficult than I was expecting. The MCQs were WAY harder than AUD.

    @pumpkins

    Don't forget that one of the WC is not evaluated only 2 of them are evaluated. So, don't be to stressed out. I think you did well on the testlets since you took your time doing them.

    Any surprises, were there fewer IT question or any topic having very heavy weight assigned to it.

    I think there was a good mix. Some people say they don't get many calculations, but I had a lot, and from a variety of formulas. I tend to get caught up in number crunching and spend too much time if I can't figure something out.

    I think all areas were tested about equally… even the conceptual questions were trickier than I expected.

    Just nervous about the written communications because they definitely weren't my best due to the last minute rush.

    I left 45 minutes for the WC. I thought that was just enough time.

    That was my goal going in, to have at least 45 minutes for writing but it didn't work out that way.

    At least the writings are worth way less than the SIMS for the other tests.
