I always thought it was scored by humans… but from reading the AICPA explanation on scoring, BEC WC is majorly scored by computers unless your score is on the brink of passing/failing.

How can we outsmart these programs?!

Well, so what I was taught by Roger was to not make any grammatical errors and include the main words a few times in the essay.

Turn on the Readability Statistics in Word. That will tell you what grade level you are writing on and if you have any passive sentences. It's great to practice the WC.

Use transition words, write 5 sentence paragraphs (intro, conclusion, 2-3 topical paragraphs, sentence at the end), no spelling/grammar errors, use key words from the prompt, and give an example in each topical paragraph, even if its a bogus one… that's what I did & got a pass!
