I am about do dive back in to some of my weak points (according to the Becker Final Exam #1); however, was hoping to receive some input on my score for the first Final AUD Exam, as this will be the first CPA Exam section that I am sitting for and this is the first time I have used a Becker Final Exam.

My audit exam is tomorrow afternoon and I am hoping to cram in as much as I can before getting a good nights sleep, but would definitely appreciate any insight in regard to my first Final Exam Results and possibly others experience with their results.

    Thanks.

You are definitely in good shape. I got around a 69% on the MC on the Becker final review #1, and I got an 84 on the exam. So don't worry, you are in a VERY good position!!!!!

    A- 84
    R- 67, 72, 78
    F- 83

I just took Final Exam 1 yesterday so I'm interested to see the experiences of people who have already taken the exam. Hopefully the practice is harder than the real thing so I'll be good to go.

I'm impressed that you got 100% on the tickmarks sim. Do you have auditing experience?

I didn't think that the Exam was much harder than Final Exam #1, it was about on par I'd say. I think the general concensus on the board is to add 10 points on to your final exam score and it might be a good indication as to your performance on the exam.

Although, I got around a 55% on my FAR Becker Final Exam and I got an 83 on the exam

I just finished mine today as well with wiley 2012. I got an average of 80( 23, 22,27). However, i luckily guess right on like 5 of them….(taking mine on the 28th)

And on sims, im getting like 50s….

    BEC: Passed
    REG: Passed
    FAR: Almost Past (lol)
AUD: I thought I passed with flying colors, but I wasn't close!

I'm taking AUD tomorrow – I got a 72% on both of my Practice Exams. Granted, I wasn't taking them as seriously as I could. But still, it made me a little nervous. However, I decided that I'm going to not worry about it and trust in the 100+ hours I've put into it to studying for it. I'm going to review some key flashcards tonight before bed, and get a good night's rest.

    I hope I pass!

On my Reg and FAR Final Exams, I scored in the mid-60s. I ended up with 90s.

I believe I scored similar to you on the AUD MC in the Final Exam.

I think you'll be just fine.

    BEC: 10/1/12 - 84
    AUD: 11/1/12 - 94
    REG: 12/6/12 - 90
    FAR: 1/25/13 - 93

@BDC, those scores look fine. I took practice exam #1 last night and averaged in the low 80s. For my FAR and REG practice exams, I always averaged in the 60s on my MC and passed both exams.

    F - 85 (11/2012)
    R - 87 (1/2013)
    A - 92 (2/2013)
    B - 90 (4/2013)

    DONE!

I don't understand these ridiculous jumps people have from practice exams to the real thing. I was averaging around 76 on my REG final exams and I got an 84.

I got ~87 on my AUD practice yesterday so I better get a damn good score :/

    Thanks everyone.

I went ahead and took Final Exam #2 (and definitely agree with some other posters, that #2 seemed more difficult then Final Exam #1.)

The additional studying and simulations I ran during the day ended up helping me improve in my simulation scores, but my multiple choice score took a bit of a dive. I again missed the Research and of course I am horrible with memorizing the ratios. Either way, exam is tomorrow, so not much more I can do other than some last min run through in the morning.

I just finished the second exam too BDC. I thought it was harder as well…my MCQ average was a 75. I thought there were some tricky questions thrown in there.

And the ratios…oy vey. I got 6/10 mainly by guessing on those explanations. God help me if I get one of those on my actual exam.

    Good luck tomorrow!

    F - 85 (11/2012)
    R - 87 (1/2013)
    A - 92 (2/2013)
    B - 90 (4/2013)

Well finally home from taking the exam and definitely do not feel too good about how it went.

The first testlet was not difficult at all, but did ask some questions in regards to topics that the Becker Review did not cover at all; however, the second testlet was extremely difficult. Not only was there a heavy influence of items that were deemed “not substantial for review” in the Becker CPA Review, but there were questions relating to changes that to my knowledge, were not supposed to be included in the Audit Exam until July of this year (2013.)

I must have been mistaken because there was above and beyond ample questioning in regard to the new audit exam changes, that should not have been included yet. After the extremely difficult testlet, my final testlet seemed to be back on the not too difficult side, but again, included questions that I had absolutely no prep for.

Simulations were not too bad, but I of course not only was given two research questions (my weak point), but had to record journal entries as well (which Becker all did not review, nor even bring up, during its review.)

All in all, I will wait for the results, but I feel I will most likely have to re-sit for the Audit section; in which case I will utilize some additional study materials as I do not believe the Becker Review covered all of the areas (Clarfield SAS) that showed up on the Audit Exam.

Posted this in the AUD thread but appropriate here too:

Finished the second final review — much much harder for me. I have a few questions for Becker crew. First the scores:

    T #1: 76

    T #2: 80

    T #3: 93

    Sims:

    Planning Tab: 100

    Engagement Tab: 93

    Fraud Risk Tab: 60

    Inventory Tab: 75

    Ratios Tab: 30

    Assurance Tab: 90

    Research Tab: 0

Much worse than last time. But two things:

    1) I got absolutely screwed on the ratios tab. I got every single ratio right, but did not round to the nearest tenth…so all were counted as incorrect. I should have gotten an 80%. Do things like this really happen on the real exam? I didn't see anything about rounding in the directions anywhere! That's scary as hell.

    2) Did anyone else screw up the research on this exam? The correct answer was 341.13 and I said 341.12. I kinda thought this was BS too. The call of the question just wanted the wording for the explanatory paragraph of a going concern. The former was an example of a paragraph, so I GUESS that's the better answer, but the section I chose also had the exact line that should be used. This exam has me questioning everything lol. The perils of not knowing how an exam is graded.

    @mypetmeatball

I had the same issue on my 2nd Final Exam from Becker (with regard to the research.) I also put in one place off and then received zero credit due to being one off in my selection. They both would have worked fine, but yeh, the .13 would have worked “better.”

As for the decimal places; I would hope they state where to round too on the exam.

Other than the Ratios Sim in your second exam, I would say you are probably good to go for the exam; just spend any extra time left during the exam using the Authoritative Literature to help re-work and re-assess the simulations and research question(s).

    Good luck!
