    Hey guys,

My exam is tomorrow and I decided to take the final Becker exam tonight. I scored so badly :58,70, 58. So many questions had 3-4 steps in the calculations and were so involved. Please tell me the truth. Are calculations on the real deal just as bad. I almost don’t even want to go tomorrow. ughh

Man I wish I could have given you some warning before you did one of those! Becker simulated exams are the #1 confidence killer. I've learned my lesson the hard way (trust me). For next time, don't do those the day before an exam….Do it at least 3-4 day's before the exam. That way you won't psych yourself out less than 24 hours before the actual exam. That being said, yes Becker calculations are brutal, the ones you see on the actual exam will not be that intense. I took BEC last year, and I ended up over thinking a lot of the calculations because Becker's were very intense and required a lot of separate calculations. Try now to let your scores on the simulated exam effect your confidence. Go in tomorrow and kill it! I would let your brain relax tonight. What's done is done, go in tomorrow with a great mentality, that is literally half the battle. GOOD LUCK!!!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

Thanks, Peanut. I don't post a lot just because sometimes I feel like I cant really give much of an advice, but you are one of the most supportive members on here. Good luck with your tests. One of these days, CPA process will be behind us. I think I need to head to bed.

@ Dolcevita. I just took BEC this morning…sorry to tell you that my calculation questions are as hard as Becker. some are even harder. You just need to know the concept very well. your test is tomorrow. so, don't work on the questions right now 'cause they are too time consuming. memorize the formular instead.

I have this technique while taking tests since high school, and it might help you. Once you sit down, immediately write down the formulars that trouble you, then you can go on to take the test.

if you jot down the formulas as soon as you sit down, don't you have to trade the scratch papers in if you want to get a new one?

You know, a lot of people on this site say that the Becker final exams are confidence killers, so Peanut is not alone on that one, but I guess I disagree. I think that they are very helpful and (at least in my case) representative of the level of difficulty I saw on the exam. However, to her point, don't let it psyche you out…all you can do is try not to worry about it and do the best you can. With BEC, you never know, but I'm sure you'll do great!
