    Becker Question –

    Hey future CPAs!

This is my second attempt at FAR (got demolished the first time around- 60). And I am already starting to struggle with Chapter 2 (Timing issues, matching or revenues and expenses, correcting and adjusting accouns and intangibles) It has taken me 3 days so far and I still have a few MC left and I haven’t even touched the simulations. I have taken notes but it seems like every problem has a different twist or turn. I cant seem to grasp the BASSE formula, accrual questions, and some intangibles. To keep on schedule for my 11/25 Test, I should be starting on the Chapter 3 lecture today.

I guess I am just looking for some support because this chapter is really bringing me down. I’m curious if anyone struggled with this chapter as well? How you all dealt with it? and If I should move on? and If you guys have any notes you would like to share on how you grasped this concept.

Good luck to all and thank you in advance.

Don't let it bring you down. Just stick with it. F2 is a bitch and everyone struggles with it. You just have to work through everything more than once.

Now what the hell do I do?

F2 is a difficult chapter. Keep working on it. It will come with time. There are just some sections that will take more time to get through than others. It's an important chapter. Don't neglect it.

I kind of breezed through it the first time because there were so many intricacies, none of them particularly interesting to me. Doing repeated MCQs over the material is really what helped me learn it. And as a visual learner, drawing out a lot of the concepts, like the impairment tests, helped, as well.

This chapter was really difficult for me too. I think everyone struggles with it – just keep going! It may take you a second time through it a few weeks from now to really get it down, and that's okay.

Thanks for your advice everyone! My becker homework percentage was just dreadful.

I'm really hoping it will click once I get further into the book. Maybe when i get to the statement of cash flows.

I definitely will have to come back to master this chapter cuz it seems like the CPA exam knows to test you on what you didn't understand 🙂
