For those who ave used Becker for studying FAR…out of experience, is digging back into Chapter 1 worth it? Seems majority of it provides a basis for what you learn so if you ave never seen anything then you know what IFRS is, what an income statement shows, etc…I take it Saturday morning. Is it worth it to go back to that chapter?

    Thanks

    AUD - July 2014 - 76
    REG - August 2014 - 82
    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

    DONE!!!!

Used Becker online. Who needs a text when you can burn your eyes out staring at the screen for months on end?

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you're hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

I know that ch1 probably isn't as important as some of the other chapters, but I do not neglect any of the chapters. Some people even said ch10 is not worth putting a lot of time into, but I listened to all the lectures and did all the questions.

My advice is give it some time.

Q4 is a hard Q to pass, esp FAR. Would be crazy to fail with a 74 because you didn't do a good enough review of certain chapters.

I definitely see what you're saying. Thanks. I'll give it another go, even if it's jsut running through the lectures.

What I don't get is when people say different quarters are harder than others. What would make Q4 harder than Q1, 2, 3?

Not harder, just the pass rate is lower, I think. I could be wrong but I think Q2 and Q3 have higher pass rates in the past.

Any competitive advantage you can give yourself over other candidates is worth it.

Determined CPA, You are correct. I checked several years and that's the trend. Do you know why?

I guess the overall quota =(

so unfair! I failed Audit in Q4 last year, my only fail so far. that's why ANY advantage I can get over other candidates, I will gracefully take!

    Review ch1 and 10 =)

    know your JE's

Know lifo, fifo, WA – as jeff said in the audio, under NO condition do you walk into FAR not knowing those frontwards, backwards and sideways!
