HI everyone is the Becker CPA Review final review NECESSARY? to pass the FAR exam or is the regular material more than enough to pass the CPA parts of the exam?

I never purchased the final review and found the regular material to be sufficient. However, if you feel you are not prepared it would never hurt to purchase the final review as it contains a lot more practice MCQs. If you are asking because you are not sure if you would want to spent the money but want more practice I would buy the Ninja MCQs. I hear they are amazing and really give that extra boost of practice.

I have used the final reviews for REG and AUD. I found I had an ahhhaa moment when I went through the final review for AUD. The instructor was better than Tim Gearty, and had a much better command of the English language. He was concise and to the point. It really helped.

For REG, it was very good as well. I am about to purchase the final review for FAR as well, either today or tomorrow. I wanted to try the NINJA MCQs for FAR, but they are most useful if done after covering all of the Becker material. You can’t skip stuff you don’t know, so looks like my 2 week review will be packed.

I would not say it is necessary, but the review courses tighten what you know and there are new MCQs to go over. Book a few days to go over the review course entirely: lectures notes, MCQs, SIMS.

According to Becker, one is supposed to do the final review AFTER doing all of one’s regular review plus the 2 practice exams.

Becker is expensive enough and you can definitely pass without the extra material. If you need supplemental material I would get ninja mcq- much cheaper and will expose you to different questions.

I concur with cpa8488. I have the final review for all sections. However, I have only used it once for REG. I did not use it for FAR and practice as many questions as I could with NINJA MCQ. I am using the final review for BEC just to read and take notes but practicing with NINJA MCQ. My test is less than 3 weeks away and I've practiced 1822 questions.

I supplemented with the ninja crash course videos (the official name has escaped me at the moment) and the ninja mcq and passed. You can have access to all the study material in the world. but if you don't utilize it in a effective and efficient manner, it really wont matter what you decide to use to study with.

I agree – the base Becker materials should be enough.
At that point, just thinking about having to do more MCQs from the final review package sounds too overwhelming, so I stuck with just the base materials.

Becker base materials is definitely enough. The final reviews just tightens everything up. Personally, I've only used it for REG and did not use it for FAR and currently, I am using it sporadically for BEC and supplementing my studies with NINJA MCQ and any answer I get wrong, I write down the explanation, then go back to the Becker book and review the material and add extra notes. I feel that writing down the information helps retain the info. Everyone is different and has their own learning/retention strategies.
