    Becker Question –

What do you think? Should I be taking intensive notes throughout? Or just watch them through with minimal note taking and tackle the MCQ’s?

My score history, 62 on FAR, 68 on AUD. Do you think time is better utilized just jumping into questions ASAP?

    FAR - 75
    AUD - 78
    BEC - 82
    REG - 77

    2 Corinthians 5:21

Our value does not come from our skills and abilities, as good as they may be; it does not come from our GPA, our job, a promotion from that job to a better job, our success on the CPA exam, or anything of the like; but our value comes from the fact that we have a Creator who loves us, cares for us, and desires to help us navigate the rough waters of this life in a way that provides security, hope, and true, everlasting joy while we anticipate the life to come, with Him.

Based on my past experience of getting scores in the 60s it means that you don't have an understanding of the material. Everyone studies differently. If you feel you learn best from the lectures then utilize them and take notes as you go along and work the questions. The Ninja method is another method to utilize during studying. You need to utilize the full course if you are going to and then do questions. That’s just my opinion based on having scored in the 60s

I always thought I was an auditory learner and spent time watching videos. For my last audit retake I only read the Wiley book from cover to cover and forced myself to learn and understand the material. I plan on taking BEC next and plan on using lectures because I like Cindy who teaches Yaeger's BEC.

Sometimes people give good advice on what you should do for a retake if you tell us what you did the first time around when you took the exam. Good Luck!

    AUD - NINJA in Training
    BEC - NINJA in Training
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - NINJA in Training
    AUD - 1/6/18
    FAR - TBD
    REG - TBD
    BEC - TBD

    AUD - 73, 72 retake 7/2/2016
    BEC - 8/20/2016
    REG - TBD
    FAR - TBD

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

Absolutely, Tim's voice comes to my head screaming the rules when I encounter stuff that he emphasized.

Agreed! I just got out of FAR and I heard Tim's voice multiple times during the exam. Mainly that corny way he would say BAE-BAE lol.

Btw, I don't even bother taking notes during the video lectures, but I did do plenty of writing while doing MQCs and Sims.

    REG - 83 11/24/14
    AUD - 94 2/17/15
    FAR - 93 5/26/15
    BEC - 90 8/10/15

I can still remember hearing Tim from the AUD lectures:

If you have a material/significant GAAP problem it is an accounting issue that will require a modified or adverse opinion based on severity

If you have a material/significant GAAS problem it is an auditing issue that will require a modified or disclaimer opinion based on severity

Extra emphasis always placed on GAAS problem. TMI Tim, they have medicine for that now, lol…

Personally, I think the lectures drive me crazy if I take them too seriously. I like going through lectures once, and doing tons of MCQs and then listening to a review lecture to bring it all together.

    AUD: 02/28/15 - 89
    FAR: 05/29/15 - 80
    BEC: 08/03/15 - 81
    REG: 08/27/15 - 76
