A questions for everyone! I am using the Becker and Wiley for Multiple Choice questions? I am doing really well on the Wiley question like in the 80+ % but when I do the Becker it is greatly lower like high 60% -78%? Does Becker and Wiley in your experience tend to be harder than the actual exam or one is harder than the other. Not sure but the Becker scores are putting a damper on my mood and spirit.

offlineMember@MylifeisCPA: I can't comment on Wiley, since I use Becker. In my experience, the Becker homework is much more detailed than the exam. On both BEC and FAR that has been the case. I wouldn't suggest skimming over the ones that are difficult, especially since many are good ways to learn or think about certain topics. Conversely, don't sit and try to learn a particular exception or application of a rule or question either. I know people talk about the CPA as if it's a miserable and ridiculous exam, and in many ways it can be frustratingly difficult/random, but honestly they really do test the basics. Becker goes into serious detail that in many cases couldn't possibly be tested on the exam. For example, FAR has 90 MCQ's and 7 sims. If you average 2 minutes per MCQ that leaves you with about an hour for sims. Adjust a bit up or down if you like for MCQ's, but give or take 2 minutes will be your average on those. Some of the Becker questions take longer, even when I know what I'm doing. My advice for those, learn what they are trying to teach you, but don't worry if it's still difficult. In FAR review, Becker has a TBS that makes you derive an entire statement of cash flows. Ludicrous! There is no way you would be asked to do that on an exam. Worst possible would be to get cash flows from operations or something like that.
My point is, study hard, but don't let the tough questions get you down.
As far as homework scores, I typically got in the 70s, few in the 60s, and a few in the low-mid 80s, and you can see below how my exams turned out. Good luck!BEC 86 (08/30/11)

I prepared very well for BEC. My MCQs and simulated exams results were 85-90%. I scored 85
I prepared OK for FAR. Did not take simulated exams. Average with MCQs around 80%+. I scored 80
I was very confident with REG preparation before going to the exam, overall result 80%+, sim exam 92%, many areas I beat to death, did not get tested, some I read it through once, got tested heavily. I'm nervous about the result on Nov 21.
Now working on AUD for 11/29
I'm using Becker. And I agree with See Pee A, the material questions tend to be more difficult, what I found why I got lost on some questions in the exam are about stuff that the material did not cover or lightly covers.Posted 6 months ago #
