I have both the Becker and Yaeger FAR review material for 2014. And yes I know about the 2016 changes lol.
Anyway, I watched a few of Yaeger’s lectures and they were just awful to watch. Becker’s lectures on the other hand, I found to be very user-friendly and something I could definitely watch without contemplating suicide.
From the little bit of Yaeger material that I watched, I remember Phil saying loud and clear “Don’t do any questions unless we tell you to do them!”
So here I am, getting super annoyed when I’m going through the Becker MCQs. For example, Becker wants me to do 53 MCQs after the “Bonds” lecture. Yaeger requires only 26 questions for the same section. Sometimes I find myself wanting to pull out my hair with how twisty Becker’s questions can get.
I’ve read on this forum that the FAR content from Becker is more difficult than the actual exam. I find myself understanding the topics during lecture and with the basic and intermediate problems, but when they start throwing accrued interest and non-convertible bond questions at me in several different formats, I find myself losing focus. Everything starts to mesh together and I forget what’s what.
So, long story short, I’m considering just using the Becker lectures and doing only the problems that Yaeger says to do (Because Phil said so!). Anybody else find that the amount of MCQs Becker asks you to do is an excessive amount? I feel that trying to do every question they ask for every section will ultimately be counter-productive. Thanks for any insight!
