Becoming certified in another state than you are actually working

    I’ll be beginning my career with a big 4 firm in California this fall, but decided to test for the NY CPA license. I’m from the East coast and plan on eventually moving back to NY after a few years in California. Will being certified in NY but working in CA cause any problems for me? Or will it make no difference?
