I was wondering if anyone could tell me some good job search web sites? The best I have found is indeed, but I was curious if there were any better ones?

I have never used indeed. I always use monster.com or careerbuilder.com. I have just started using linkedin.

I have used: Indeed, Monster, LinkedIn and my state's accounting job board.

Landed my new job from a recruiter who found me on LinkedIn.

Linkedin is great. To be honest, its a lot better to work with a recruiter though.

LinkedIn and a recruiter. Depending on where you live, the company's website and just calling HR and asking where you can send your resume can also be very effective.

I got my current job on craigslist, and I love it. However, I had to wade through all of the spammers and scammers first, so I wouldn't recommend it.

I do not want to let the air out of your tires but the best job resource is your network.

I have found one simple fact, the monster and careerbuilder sites are good for one thing and one thing only: hooking you up with a bunch of bloodthirsty recruiters who will send you on wild goose chases.

I was unemployed in 2002. I had an extremely sharp resume, excellent work history, valuable experience, my EA license and an MBA. I sent out 120+ resumes to those sites and the only responses I received was from recruiters and only a handful at that.

Your best bet are friends, family, colleagues, school mates, your school's alumni office, the local newspaper, the job website of your local papers, etc.

my 2 cents: My last job search was a year ago and I found my job through career builder(after wanting to avoid it lol). It was a small CPA firm that does not hire very often so they went through that avenue. I still think you should try all the sites, in addition to networking. You never know what hidden opportunity is out there. I love my job and am so happy I found it. Good luck!

CPApending is right. I looked for an accounting job for a year and a half before I finally got offered a job. The only reason I got the job I have now is because I started working at a daycare while searching for an accounting job and my current boss just so happened to be on the church's board. If the daycare manager hadn't told her about me going to school for accounting and just talking about me I would probably still be looking for a job. It isn't fair that it is like that, but life isn't fair. Of course you can still find jobs even if you don't know someone, it is just harder. I used the same websites everyone else mentioned, but I only got interviews from places where someone else recommended me.

Good luck! Try calling and/or going by their office.
