Best time to schedule retake during busy season

    Hello everyone!

So I found out last night I failed AUD again. This was my 2nd time taking it. I’m not going to lie, I cried last night as I saw my score. I went from a 61 to a 59! I really put a lot of time and energy into this exam. I was hoping to see an increase in pts even if I didn’t pass, but I just made it worse.

First time I used Becker, studied for 5 weeks full time. 2nd time I added Ninja my stasts:

Attempts: 2,074 Average: 76% Trending: 95.67% PLUS 1,000+ Becker mcqs.

I’m still not over it…I feel frustrated but I don’t want to quit. I’m thinking about buying Gleim test bank and using CPA Wiley for my 3rd time (plus Ninja mcq maybe).

Question is…when would be a good day for this retake? I just started in public accounting and I’m not sure when to schedule the exam. Should I retake in early April or just wait until the end of May? If you have tested during busy season, please let me know what worked for you.

    Thanks!

All companies are diff. I am taking AUD at the end of this month. I scheduled it back in Dec. b/c I was unsure how busy this company would be. We start our overtime a little later than everyone else. The last company I was with we started minimum 60 hour weeks the 2nd week of Jan. Wanted to give myself some room in case that was the same thing here.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

Oh I see. I asked a couple of ppl at my office but they finished the exams before they started so I'm not sure of what to do. I want to get a NTS but if I do it now, I won't have time to schedule in May bc my state only does 3 months notices.

I'm so frustrated about this waiting period (can't get NTS today) and then I can't test till April…ugh Well thanks for the reply 🙂

I would suggest May, its your last one and that just gives you more study time. Hypothetically, if you don't pass again in April, its not like you can take it again in May, would have to wait until July again either way. Plus, tax season can be crazy, give yourself a month or so of normal work hours after April 15 and I think that will help a lot with your studies.

CA CPA - est. Dec 2016

    FAR - 80
    AUD - 82
    BEC - 80
    REG - 85

    ETHICS - 90
    EXPERIENCE - COMPLETE

@CPA2BEE Yeah, I think I'll retake again in May. It's just hard to plan everything right now. I want to hit the books again but I feel like is too soon. Oh man, I wish I was done! Well, good luck with your studies, there isn't anything we can do but keep trying

Montiel, I 100% understand. I studied so hard for Audit and have failed 4 times now. Last time, I studied more than the other 3 times put together and I did worse. from 73 to 69. Just wanted to tell you you aren't alone! (I cried too). I talked to one of the partners at my firm, and she said to take as many as I can during busy season because not many people take the test during that time. I am taking one next week and one in April I hope.

Hi Terpgirl, thanks for the reply. It feels so much better to let things out with other ppl that understand what we're going through right now. So, I was wondering what study material are you using?

I'm planning on taking aud for a 3rd time in May (probably like the first weekend) but I want to change study material. I've been doing research and have read from other ppl in this forum about Roger, Gleim and Wiley. This is what I found out:

Roger: I've watched a couple of vids of Roger in YouTube and I know he's great but I can't keep up with his enthusiasm lol He talks a lot and I don't really like watching vids, is just not my learning style.

Wiley: I have a study guide a friend lend me and the material layout/format is different from Becker. It looks more dry and more lengthy (just read a few pages).Test bank…I don't know anything about how Wiley TB is like. I know I can buy it for $120. That's a good price and I can add ninja but I'm not sure about Wiley TB.

Gleim: TB is one of the best but the questions cover material that is not tested and questions tend to be harder. Also, the TB is $225 so is more expensive than Wiley & Ninja combined.

If you (or anyone who comes across this post) have used any of this, please let me know if you like it or if you think you need something else. I really want to pass aud next time. I can't keep failing! I know I have to drastically improve (score report says I'm weaker in both mcqs & sims overall) and I think changing material could do the trick.

I am using ninja questions this time, and studying the simulations. my trending score is a 82%, but I have learned that doesn't mean a lot for me. I used CPA excel and was getting 85%+ on the practice exams, but I would take my real exam, I got 60,70,73,69. I am a horrible test taker, and I need noise to focus, and that test center is so quiet. Not an excuse, just something I have to figure out how to solve.

I have also gone through Becker because my work has a license for it. Otherwise, I would have just stuck with Ninja and CPAexcel. Becker is ok.

I just got Ninja audio, and that is helping me to use all my spare moments to study.

Someone told me once that if I fail, it's me, not the study program. I see what they were saying, but I did find that some programs are much better for certain types of learners.

    We can do this!
