I am feeling myself getting desperate. Any one please help

Background: I just passed all four sections of the CPA. I have two years experiences in corporate accounting and two years in CPA firm. I have no audit experiences but have done some review/agree upon reports. I am not a CPA yet because of the educational hours, also I want to get signed under audit experiences.

I applied all big 4 firms as experienced hire. KPMG called me for phone interview last week. Now I have not heard any news from them, neither any of other firms.

    1) How long would big 4 usually reply an application if “not interested”?

    2) Do you usually get e-mail confirmation once phone interview is over?

    3) What’s the overall qualification to obtain a Audit associate postion in big 4?

    4) Would they usually send e-mail or make phone call for a second interview?

If not big 4, I am going try out other audit firms. Any ideas of how I get name list for the audit firm?

    Thanks

    Thank you

jessie424 have you tried with working with any of the big 4 recruiters? What field of the big 4 are you trying to get into? What were your responsibilities at the CPA firm?

The phone interviews are usually with big 4 recruiters, and if they have a position available, they'll send ur resume over to corresponding partner/managers, and if they think you fit, you'll get an invite for office visit. but the process can take awhile. What did you do in the CPA firm? If you applied as experienced associate audit, they would be expecting some sort of relevant experience.

    As for audit firms

    https://www.roberthalf.com/salary-guides

I know this is a salary guide but i believe it lists top 100 accounting firms in the nation.

As far as getting a list of firm names to hit up, what state are you in? For Texas, I just double checked and you can go to the state board's website and do a search for firms registered with the board within a certain zip code (i.e. you don't have to know names or anything).

Sandro, I am a senior accountant in charge of doing review, bookkeeping, tax return and other general CPA firm duties. I want to do audit. No, I have not yet work with any recruiters. Should I start making contact through Linkedin?

youngd8, I don't have direct audit experiences but have done some review/compilation in compliance with GAAP. I don't know if that count as “relevant”. thank you for the link, i will try it out

thechapman, I am in CA. I have tried the state's website but all I can see is list of individuals. will try it out later

Yes i would definitively get connected with some recruiters via Linkedin. For the position that you are applying i think you have enough exposure to accounting work. You just need to get in touch with the right recruiter.
