    Hi everyone,

I got offer from Big 4 assurance in New York and hope to get some advice about which market team or client to choose. Currently, I am interested in banking, but have no idea to choose market team within the banking group. If I want to transfer to industry in 3 to 5 years, what will be a better choice? Any idea about Investment Banking /Commercial bank /broker dealer /others in terms of career development and working hours on busy season ? I heard that we will have hard time audit IB?

    Is that right ?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Banking is just rough due to the amount of reporting requirements and scrutiny in recent years.

I've generally heard that asset mgmt is a good field with strong exit opportunities. It may depend on if you like fund reporting vs public reports (SEC filings), but it can be very lucrative from what I've gathered even from the accounting background.

Wish I could offer more detail, but I'd just be guessing. Good luck!

Thanks fuzyfro89. I appreciate your feedback.

It is really hard to choose market team in terms of career development.

Any other feedback about how to choose the team?

If you do banking, expect to be busy from October through July, from what I have heard. Hedge funds was a good gig. Normal 4-5 month busy season and was a lot more interesting than commercial in my opinion. Plus they're not public so you don't have to worry about quarterly filings, etc.

    AUD - July 2014 - 76
    REG - August 2014 - 82
    FAR - November 2014 - 78
    BEC - January 2015 - 81

    DONE!!!!

Used Becker online. Who needs a text when you can burn your eyes out staring at the screen for months on end?

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you're hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"
