I received a 55k starting salary offer with a sign on bonus of 2k for having my CPA complete. I have one year of experience at a local firm. Is this acceptable you think? I heard that some give 5k bonus. I am in southern cali region.

My firm offers $5,000 if you complete the CPA within your first year of full time employment. I think this is a fair offer though.

Congratulations on the offer! The salary sounds exactly in line with what I would expect for that region. All Big 4 offer a $5K bonus if you pass the CPA within your first year of employment (and this includes if you happen to have already passed before you start). HOWEVER, this is for campus hires. I have no idea if the rules are different for experienced hires, they very well could be, although you may want to look into that. Side question: were you offered an A1 or A2 position?

KPMG does not reimburse cell phone bills until the manager level. Sabbatical pay is 20% of your normal rate; your initial time off is counted as PTO at full pay until all your PTO days are “used up”.
