Big 4 Training

I’ll be starting as a tax associate with a Big 4 firm in October. I was told that I would be notified about training about two weeks prior to my start date. Some of my friends in other Big 4 firms are also starting around the same time and already have their training schedule. Is it typical not to know your training schedule and location until two weeks prior? Also, where are the usual training locations for the Big 4?

Depends on the firm. I wouldn't worry about it too much. They will take care of you and have it all arranged. Be ready to have food available at all times of the day.

Agreed, depends on the firm. I got my training schedule about 5 months in advance, same as with my internship last summer, and it's in Florida again. Some firms just do local training in the same city as your office. My roommates are starting at a Big 4 next month and haven't received any training info yet.

I would say the same thing as Sameday did. Don't worry, if it gets closer you can always email your recruiter. But don't worry, they've been doing this for a long time now. Just get ready to learn, eat and have fun. So excited to get back to my firm..

@co10101, you must be going to KPMG also : )

Lol. First year associates and their enthusiasm. Chill Winston…you'll get your schedule soon enough. If not, just wait a week or two before you're supposed to start and email the recruiter.

It depends on the firm and the market. I didn't get information until the couple weeks leading up to my first day.
