I seriously need advice from guys at Big4. I have a non accounting bachelors and masters (economics) degree, is it possible to get into big4 through entry level. I have just regulation to complete my cpa exams and I do not have any accounting experience. So I will pretty much have to wait to get my experience before I get licensed. More importantly is the fact that considering my degrees are in economics and I want to start at a big 4, is it possible to get in without going through college career fair since it doesn’t seem to be an option for me. Also, can I make use of an insider to get in as an entry level if I cannot get in from grad school. I know a couple of guys in two of the big4s . Lastly, I have 3 years experience as a credit risk analyst in a bank, though I am currently out of job, can this experience be of any help getting in either through entry level or experience hire. Hoping that passing the exam will give me a chance to get interviewed. Please your opinion will be appreciated. Thanks!

if you search the forum or even google, i'd say the answer to all your questions and regardless of experience is yes. I don't know if it'll be easy because there's so many variables but it seems you have no problem networking, and since you've past the exams that shows true dedication and knowledge. there's all so many factors, but i think you'll be fine and just go for it. Forget what anyone says, you won't know until you try.

When I was working at Big-4, one of the Seniors I worked with had an Econ background.

    BEC - 90 PASSED
    FAR - 84 PASSED
    AUD - 93 PASSED
    REG - 84 PASSED

    I DID IT!!!!

I think it may depend on line of service… but if you're planning to join audit or tax as an experienced hire with no accounting experience, it may not work out.

Typically, entry hires are straight from campus.. but if your insiders have some pull with the recruiter, then perhaps you will get in the door with a first round as an entry.

You can absolutely get into entry level big Big 4 (maybe not tax) with an Economics background. The only thing that matters is you took the neccessary accounting classes to be eligible for the CPA exam – which is all they really care about. Good luck!
