BSed Written Communication and still passed BEC?

Just came back from BEC. Test let’s went medium, hard, medium/hard. When the WC came, I had no idea what is technically right, so I gave a BS answer, with some key words, restating, good grammar and structure. But the technical content I put was inaccurate. Has anyone BSed the WC and still passed?

If you did good on the MCQ and had proper formatting and punctuation then you should be fine. You can pass without the written portion.

Almost always from my phone... please excuse my typos!

From everything I've read surrounding the WC portion, if you have good grammar, spelling, punctuation and include relevant buzzwords, you should do very well. These are not graded for content, but rather put through some kind of program that compares what you wrote to what would constitute a passing response.

Someone mentioned somewhere on these forums a person getting “stronger” on the WC portion by writing a recipe or something to that effect.

Yes you can bs the writing and still pass. When I took my Bec I wasn't even confident with my mc questions. I got so many random ques that's not even in my Becker review book. I was about to give up in the exam shaking my head that no way I will pass. Then it gets to the writing OMG I didn't even know what those topics are like I remmeber one specifically is about a sentence that Becker mentioned and I had to write. I literally have no clue and simply restate the question, write 3 or 4 sentences and then a conclusion. I have no confident on my writing at all and I passed with a 78 so u can pass if u bs. I literally bsed cuz I didn't know what I wrote even answer the question or do I have have any keywords on my writing. Plus I didn't write a lot very short paragraphs.

Yes I totally BSed on my BEC exam! Well, not sure what you mean by technically incorrect – but yeah, if you just wrote whatever you knew about the subject + good grammar + nice format, then I think you're good to go! I feel like they're pretty nice about the grading for the BEC writing portion.

Well written portions is only worth 15% in the first place which isn't that much. I wasn't able to complete mine under the time constrains and instead copied and pasted verbatim my earlier written communication question and effectively modified nothing. I passed fairly decently.

Took BEC today, I got one written that I had not studied the topic AT ALL. There was one concept in the question that I was familiar with so I just ran with it…didn't even answer the actual question. I guess I'll know in two months if it worked or not.

I took BEC before the changes but I thought I did ‘pretty good' on the MCQS, missed plenty of them though. WC I knew one pretty well and totally whiffed on the other two but just made sure I had good writing and structure. I ended up passing so definitely possible to wing the WC with good structure and still pass.
