Just took BEC yesterday - exam was waaaaayyyyy easier than the Becker practice exams. Not sure if this is a good thing or not since I am guessing everyone will score fairly high, but it certainly felt good to walk out of one of these exams and actually have a good feeling for once...

Just the idea of waiting for my BEC score until maybe the end of September makes me sick... i've done the Ohio Loophole like 50 times since yesterday and gives me a in process message. Called NASBA this morning and they said my score hasn't been released yet. This sucks!

Called WV office to see if results yet.. BEC 79. WOOO HOOO. 1/2 CPA. LOL. Headed to see Blondie and B52's tonight for a celebratory night!! If only AUD results would be coming soon. Still studying for FAR on Monday. WOOT Woot.

Congrats on your 79! One of my co-workers had his passing AUD score e-mailed to him this afternoon (he is NH State candidate). When did you take BEC?

jennmmarrs, that's sweet! Just had my compensation call with my partner at the firm. He is really pushing me to have this exam get out of the way before January so that I can officially be called a senior. Just got promoted to a senior (but a less official title) and will be taking FAR on Saturday. He told me to take tomorrow and friday off to study. Guess tomorrow i can concentrate on gov't/np accounting and Friday on bonds payable and cash flow... still though, the pressure is on. Also, he told me to inform him once i receive my BEC score :/

@Big4 You should def study!!! I have 4 chapters left to finish my final review of FAR. Good luck with your scores!! Good luck too with your promotion. I have been in my job now for 9 years next month. I am hoping that with the CPA (I'm in healthcare industry), I may get a raise. Times aren't the best in healthcare. LOL. I did the public thing for 1 year, and I'm not sure that I am cut out for it. LOL.
I completely understand the pressure. I have 2 small girls, so, I can barely fit in time to study. LOL. My poor husband has been so patient and understanding about watching them for me. I spent last weekend in my bed, or at the library. Not hardly how I would prefer my weekend. LOL.

jennmmarrs, i don't know how working moms like you do it! But i applaud your battle with the CPA exam. My current senior here took FAR in May. Studied the summaries once, did the multiple choice from Becker 2008 software once, and then went to the exam... 78! Incredible. He had AUD & BEC expire in April so in the month of July, he took AUD, BEC, and REG... scored an 82 in BEC, 78 in AUD, and now only waiting on his REG score (failed REG previous 3x, with 74 the last two). We are all rooting for him here. If he passes REG, he's done! Hopefully we will all enter the new year with the CPA next to our names. Btw, if you need any summaries for FAR, let me know. I have 9 chapters summarized at 5-7 pages per chapter i got from a buddy of mine. Willing to help out anyone who has to face "The Beast". Like I always say, I like slaying the dragon even if it's not with my own sword... best of luck!

Just wanted to see what people thought about this.
I am taking BEC 8/31. I've been studying for a few weeks now, but admittedly not as much as I should. I've been so obsessed with getting my score back for REG that its affecting my study habits. Its pretty funny actually. Anyway, I just took the first Becker practice test. I actually got an 81, which is pretty encouraging since I hear it is very difficult compared to the real thing.
I noticed that a lot of the questions were straight from the supplemental questions. What experience have you had with these practice exams?

gcaulfie, if you scored an 81 on a Becker practice exam, you'll get 90+ on the actual CPA exam (not to jinx you or anything). The actual exam questions are less wordy (much less). Just make sure to read each question carefully, the examiners like to ask tricky questions, and often! My exam on 8/15 was a calculation almost every other question and even half of the theory was based on cost/managerial accounting. Also ended up with tons of random IT nonsense. But sounds like you have your stuff down cold. Good luck!

Cpababe - Focus on variance formulas and just reread your notes a few times through and do some multiple choice questions. I'm not sure what you are using but you can use cpareviewforfree.com for a change of pace if you're getting similar multiple choice questions with your primary study materials. Good luck!!

I am from Wisconsin, have not gotten my score, but was told by NASBA that it will be released within the next 24 hours. I took FAR on 8/12/10.

I sure hope so, I took BEC 8/13 and they claim to have my score as well. They did not give me a release estimate however. This is my first exam and i'm pretty anxious to see the result. Off to the packer game though, so that should help pass the time!

@Patrick - I felt the same way about the BEC exam. It was wayyyyyyy easier than the Becker practice exams. I left there feeling REALLY confident. I even guessed on a few that seemed to be regulation type questions and it turns out I guessed right on them when I looked them up after the exam. I'm glad I took that one last and finished on such a high note.
