I’m weighing audit staff job options and was wondering if anyone has input on how truthful (or not) potential employers are when they say things like busy season work weeks are usually xxx hours. I’ve heard some lower than expected amounts, like 50 hours a week, from larger regional firms. Does this seem accurate or do employers tend to flex the truth about busy season hours?

I think 50-65 is realistic.

It could be better or worse. Better teams and clients may be 50 or less and outright nightmares happen. I wouldn't nail a number to that wall, but it can get ugly if things go really wrong.
