First time I've heard that complaint!...not looking forward to that...ugh
Pay attention to the wording. California has special rules on certain items. It was hard but nowhere near as hard as the CPA exam.
Thats good to hear! I'm getting started on it soon! Want to just get it done and over with!
I passed it! It takes longer than I expected but the suggestions they give you on what to review is in order of the questions and helps you narrow down the ones you got wrong.
derekj - how long did it take you? I was hoping to lose only one more Saturday to this whole process...
It took me about 4-5 hours.
I ordered it to keep me entertained waiting for my FAR scores to come in (testing 11/4, hopefully my last CPA exam sitting ever) and have been doing it sitting in the parking lot when I get places early. Seems a lot of the questions if you look up the key words in the index and go to the page to read about the topic... a lot of them read verbatim between the question and the book and the answer is very obvious.
Finished my ethics exam last night! Passed with a 94. Now just waiting on these FAR scores and I'm fingerprints away from a C-P-A!
Another hint I have heard on the ethics exam... order the pdf version of the book... I guess the search function isn't locked and you can just search by key word. Sure beats the heck out of flipping back and forth looking up by keyword in the index... and of course all the key words you would love to search aren't necessarily in the index!
I just completed passing all 4 exams for the CPA but I still have to complete the Pathway 2 one year experience requirement. I believe that I have to complete the experience requirement BEFORE I take the ethics exam. Am I right here? I'm in CA.
Also, is the ethics exam a "take home" exam?
where do you order the ethics exam information? I searched the CA website briefly and did not see anything.. Any advice?
Onepointaway,
The exam is a take home exam, open book. I dont know about your experience question. I do know they say you should complete the ethics exam within 2 years of passing your four exam parts and you can take it before you have passed all parts.
Bratman,
You purchase it from the CalCPA here: http://www.calcpa.org/Public/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=PETHOL08A The membership for canidates is really discounted, so if you're not a member I suggest getting the membership and enjoying the discount on the ethics exam.
