I have a few questions in regards to the CA Ethics Exam. How long do I have to take the CA Ethics Exam after I pass all 4 sections? Does the CPA exam credits expire in CA? How many times can you take the exam? Thank you in advance!

I think you have 1 year to pass the ethics exam from the date you purchased it. You get three chances online. If you fail the 3rd time, I heard you can call in to request another 3 chances.

It's not too bad, but I have to admit.. it sucks to study after you've already passed 4 sections. My suggestion is to get the pdf version and search the keywords in the answers or search the keywords in the questions. You'll quickly find the keywords in the material by doing this. Write down the chapter and the page you found the answers from so you can look it up again (if you fail). If you fail, they give you the sections you need to read. This helps because you can quickly figure out which questions you missed.

From page 14 under “Credit Status” of the Uniform CPA Exam Handbook (https://www.dca.ca.gov/cba/publications/exambook.pdf):

“Once you have passed the CPA Exam, your scores never expire.”

You can take the Ethics Exam at any time before or after you pass all 4 parts, but once you pass it your pass score is only valid for 2 years.

if you fail 3 times, they give you 3 more chances free. if you fail after 6 times you have to repurchase the test.
