CA Licensure Questions

Hello fellow Ninjas! I just found out that I passed the 4th section of the CA CPA exam and am preparing for the final stages of completing the requirements for licensure, although I am awaiting for the EXPIRED to be changed back to CREDIT on my first exam (expired Nov 17, took the 4th one on Nov 14 and passed).

Does anyone know: 1) do transcripts need to be re-submitted? 2) does the CPA signing off on my experience need to submit the form themselves, or should they give it to me to submit when I submit the other paperwork? 3) how long does it generally take to get the ‘congratulatory’ letter from NASBA?

    1. Transcripts only need to be submitted if you qualified to sit for the exam before getting the 150 units or degree. If you already submitted transcripts with the 150 units and your degree, then there is no need.

    2. If you work for the Big 4, usually HR will take care of it. Otherwise, give the form to the person signing with a stamped envelope addressed to the CBA. That way all they have to do is sign, stick it in the envelope, and drop in the mail.

    3. Letters do not come from NASBA, they come from the CBA. The CBA is notoriously slow, especially around this time of year. Expect 2-3 weeks for a congratulatory letter saying you passed and that you should submit your application. Except anywhere from 3-4 months once they receive your completed application to get your license.

3-4 months? Really? I for some reason had in my mind 1-3 months. 3 being worst case scenario!

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

It has been 2.5 month already for me since my application submission. Took CBA over a month to send the congratulate letter,

That makes me really sad! Seriously! I'm waiting on a promotion and a raise that was supposed to be big but apparently now has been deflated (like Brady's balls). Both are dependent on me getting licensed.
