I heard that BEC has to be last exam to be taken since it covers all other sections.

I already took FAR & AUD but wonder if I can take BEC before REG?

    FAR-81
    AUD-88
    BEC-75
    REG-1/26/17

    A: 64 71 88!
    F: 72 69 65 81!
    B: 70
    R:

Yes you can. You can take the exams in any order you want.

BEC doesn't really cover all the other sections. It's just a lot more broad and each topic is entirely self contained. For BEC you have about 5 major topics:

    – Corporate Governance

    – Cost Accounting

    – Financial Management

    – Economics

    – Information Technology / Accounting Information Systems

If you follow Becker they also include a 6th chapter of miscellaneous “catch all” topics which are all very small in nature and not heavily tested.

So with all of that said, yes, you can take BEC before REG. There is very little overlap between the two exams. And in some ways I think REG is a good one to take last because REG really doesn't have overlap with any other section where BEC does overlap some with FAR and AUD (not much but some).

At any rate I took BEC before REG and that worked out just fine for me.

I think you can take BEC and REG at any point. FAR and AUD are the only exams in which I think that order matters. I would take FAR before AUD.

You can take the exams in any order, but I did find it helpful that I took BEC last.

There were a lot of moments that I thought, “yeah I remember this from Audit.” Ultimately though, it is still very different from the rest of the exams so prepare accordingly.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88
