I’m trying to get my application completed and sent in (finally). The next board meeting is March 8. The application says that it must be RECEIVED by the board no later than 10 business days before the next board meeting (today by my calculations).

I called to see if I could go into boston and drop it off today to meet the deadline. The entirely LESS than helpful person on the phone told me it doesn’t matter, they still have to do a background check first which takes weeks. (uh, then why does the app say 10 days?).

So I flat out asked if this means there is no chance of being considered in March and she replied “well I wouldn’t say that”.

    grrrrr…….

So if you are licensed in MA what was the timeline from mailing the app to getting licensed? This woman knew nothing at all and I’m not going to waste a trip to Boston. I’ll overnight the app and if I end up having to wait until April its not the end of the world.

Mr HAHA, I wouldn't be devastated to have to wait until April (this has been long enough a process that another 30 days won't hurt me) but I just want to see the ultimate destination 🙂 For now its enough to beam at my masters degree that came a few weeks ago.

KMW I'm about 19 miles north of Boston. Lets just say Halloween is a busy time of year where I live LOL

Oh so you live waaaayyy out East. lol. I love that “Bostonian's view of the world” map that shows Boston as the center of the Universe, Worcester as a suburb, and barely has my little hometown (which is actually a decent-sized city) on the map. I thought you might be from my neck of the Berkshires because of how you talked about “driving into Boston” like it was so far away! HA! 19 miles – you're a true New Englander. lol. I don't like driving in Boston either. I much prefer the T.

OH don't get me wrong, the “driving into boston” isn't about the distance, heck I drive 60+ miles north to bring my daughter to spend weekends with her grandparents.

I don't care if it was only one mile away, I'd rather have a root canal than drive in Boston traffic. And the T is just…….gross.

Yeah the T has its issues but it is a reliable form of transportation and it beats the heck out of trying to navigate Boston by car. Since I don't get there very often, and even less so since I moved away, I can handle the T when I need to. 🙂
