Can Someone Please Explain Weird Wisconsin?

Hi everyone. As you can tell from my screen name, I live in Wisconsin! I took the FAR exam (my first section) on 7/10 and then took AUD on 8/14. I plan to take REG next in October and BEC in November. I have read that Wisconsin is slow to release scores, but I’m confused about that. Does Wisconsin wait until all of the scores are in for Wave 1 and then release all of the Wave 1 scores together, or does it wait until all of the scores are in for Waves 1 AND 2 and then release them all together?

I have to say that in this whole exam process, the release of scores has not been communicated clearly, and I was surprised that no information was provided upon exam completion as to approximately when/how scores are released from Wisconsin. I don’t even know if I will receive anything in the mail or not. I know I can log into NASBA and check for my scores, but when? It seems ridiculous that we put so much effort and time into studying (not to mention cash!), and we are left to wonder and wait about scores. I’m trying to decide whether to go ahead and schedule the next exams when I have not yet learned about passing these, because if I didn’t pass, I want to retake those as soon as possible. It’s hard to plan ahead without knowing. And, we’re all in this 18-month pressure cooker to pass all sections.

I know I’m preaching to the choir, but with the available computerized technology, I would sure like to see an improved grading and score release system.

I suspect Favre wanted out because he was considering taking the CPA Exam and didn't want to wait for scores.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

haha seriously.. why does it take 2 months to get BEC scores! As the last year of “all” multiple choice they should have given us our scores right away! You know seeing they aren't “curved” ….

Jeff – That sounds a little “Favre-Fetched”, if you know what I mean! Ha! Ha! Actually, I miss Brett Favre playing for the Packers a LOT, and Green Bay is not the same without him, for sure.

So seriously, what's up with Wisconsin scores? Might we get our scores for Wave 1 soon, or will we have to wait until after Wave 2?

    FAR - 94 (7/10)
    AUD - 99 (8/20)
    REG - 99 (10/15)
    BEC - 88 (11/20)

Wisconsin doesn't release any scores to candidates until all scores from the four sections have been released. Based on my previous experience, they generally don't release anything until the beginning of following month. So in other words, I wouldn't expect to hear anything regarding Wave 1 until right around Sept 1 or anything regarding Wave 2 until Oct. 1

A bit frustrating, but nothing we can really do about it so try not to let it bother you too much, it just adds to the fun filled CPA examination experience.

Wave 1 scores will come out all at once after ALL Wave 1 scores are in.

So, BEC and AUD people are still waiting for FAR and REG to be released.

    Nice, eh?

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

Thanks, I get it now. I am waiting on the FAR (7/10) and AUD (8/14) scores.

I don't understand why Wisconsin withholds releasing the scores section by section, like many other states. With the technology available, what's the problem?

I'm finding it really hard to concentrate on REG right now, as I sit here wondering about my scores on the other exams. Hope I haven't forgotten everything about FAR by the time I get my score, if I need to retake it!

    FAR - 94 (7/10)
    AUD - 99 (8/20)
    REG - 99 (10/15)
    BEC - 88 (11/20)

I would love to know why they hold the scores instead of releasing them as they get them like most other states. Hopefully this will be my last exam and I'll never have to deal with it again.

    FAR - 86, REG - 93, AUD - 87, BEC - 86

Oh, I'm jealous of you both – Rachel and hm890. I still have REG and BEC yet to go. Boo! Hoo! And, that's assuming I passed FAR and AUD.

    FAR - 94 (7/10)
    AUD - 99 (8/20)
    REG - 99 (10/15)
    BEC - 88 (11/20)

Gotta love taking FAR on July 2nd and being told by NASBA that I won't get my score until the end of September. I think if it's your last test, they should automatically make sure you're in Wave 1!

    REG - 87; BEC - 80; AUD - 69, 79; FAR - 70, 80

@MissCue391 Do they currently have your score? or have they not gotten it from the AICPA yet? One of the guys I talked to from NASBA in the past i think was confused about wisconsin and told me the same thing. That wisconsin doesnt release any of the wave 1 scores until they get all of the wave 2 scores as well, which is not at all correct. so if they do in fact have your score, i am guessing you will find out in the next week or so. If not, then yes it wont be until the end of sept. I am sorry, i know this process is very frustrating and you get a different reponse to the same question depending upon who you talk to…

I called NASBA (twice) and both times they told me they have my score even though I took the exam on August 12th. They said it will be online within the next 24 hours.

    Paper Exam May 2002; AUD 62, LPR, 63, FAR 49, ARE 70
    Paper Exam Nov 2003; AUD 72, LPR, 72, FAR 67, ARE 71
    CBT 2010; AUD 83 FAR 76 BEC 78 REG 73,(2/28/11 NTS # 446) 75 and DONE!

I called NASBA today too and they said they received my FAR score two days ago (8/24). They said it would be available by the end of the day . . . knowing I'm from Wisconsin. It's not posted yet, of course. Ughh! Do the NASBA people even know about Wisconsin's unique situation?

I did check the Ohio loophole, and FAR is grayed out for me, so I really really hope that is a good sign. I have never seen any sort of “in process” message from the Ohio loophole.

I just don't understand the inefficiency with score releases. Right now, the AICPA knows my score, NASBA knows my score, Wiscosnin knows my score, and Ohio knows my score for crying out loud . . . so why can't I know my score too?

    Just venting . . . .
