    Hello all,

I am 3/4 done with the exam and plan to take my final portion by May (REG) and am looking at changing locations.

I am currently in VA right outside washington DC working as a Senior Tax Accountant with 4 years of experience making $70,000 a year (Incl. tax season overtime).

I have always wanted to live in Florida (MIami, West Palm, FT Lauterdale, St Pete, Tampa)…and now that I will be done with my VA CPA licensure – I will be ready to make the leap.

How difficult is it to move jobs this far? I plan on finding a job while still living in VA. Any advice from anyone who has successfully done this would be appreciated.

I have considered jumping into taxation at a big 4 – would there be a big pay cut? Does anyone have any advise as well as a good salary range to be asking with 4 years of tax experience in individuals and small businesses and a CPA license (Although it will originally be for VA and I will have to apply for FL down the line).

I do not have to go big 4 – was just a thought in comparison to my current job. There are times when the partners ask for who wants to take charge of something and there are no other go getters who vollunteer and I know at a big 4 several people would jump given these kinds of opportunities. Open to public/private.
