Hi everyone, I’m currently thinking of a career change (or maybe not). I’ve been an audit associate with a small firm for a year now, but I always want to experience the big four. So I guess my question is, when do you guys think is the best time for this transition? Should I seek the opportunity as early as possible? Or should I wait to gain more experience in my firm until I’m a senior?

I’m also not sure whether the transition would be at the same grade. If I stay until a senior in the local firm, would I still be a senior in the big four or would they “downgrade” me to a staff associate?

You guys can also suggest me not to go to big four if my idea is crazy… I need pros and cons because I’m really frustrated so any suggestions would help.

    Thank you!

As soon as possible. A senior at your place will most likely only translate to an experienced staff. Congrats, you saved a year and are still just as new.

Literally in your same exact boat and just made the jump only 10 months in. Do it now, make the time and effort you're gonna put in worth it by picking up a good resume name.
