Cell phones?

    Hello,

A quick question that may seem stupid, but I really want to know. This is the first time I am appearing for a CPA exam and I need my cell phone to use my maps and reach where my center is. I am aware that phones are not allowed inside the test room. Is there a locker sort of a thing to keep my phone?

The Prometric center I go to requires that cell phones be left in your car, and not even brought into the building. Not that they search you or anything, but I just left mine in the car.

Put it in your locker along with everything else you have.

My testing center allows cellphones to be placed in the lockers, but they specifically require that the phone be turned off. Makes sense… I wouldn't want to sit and listen to 50+ phones intermitently ringing/buzzing for hours on end.

I have left mine in a locker each time.

I've left mine in a locker at 2 different test centers. But at a 3rd center, they absolutely did not allow cell phones on the premises. They had me take it back out to my car. You might want to confirm with your test center, some of them are really strict about that kind of stuff.

I just came from Prometric and they had signs saying no cell phone allowed in the building. She told me put it in the car.

It depends on the test center. My test center is in the business department at a college so they can't very well ban phones from the building. They could not allow them in the testing center portion but they just have signs saying they have to be turned off and kept in the lockers.
