Hello!

There is a big snowstorm starting tonight in New England and the Northeast and it’s supposed to last til Friday afternoon. I have the AUD exam on Friday morning at 8:30. Do you think the Prometric center will be closed? They’re already closing schools in the area for the rest of the week and the snow hasn’t even started falling yet.

Though I wouldn’t mind having a few extra days to study, I’m worried because my NTS literally expires on Friday. Will I be able to reschedule or will I have to pay for a whole new NTS?

If they were to close the center, they usually let you reschedule (like, for the next day they're open). However, I haven't heard of them closing the centers very often – Sandy was the last time I heard about major closings and re-scheduling.

I seriously doubt prometric in any NE state will be open tomorrow at 8:30, that's supposed to be the brunt of the storm. Make sure to call ahead, I did have a test once (in Burlington MA) during a major snowstorm and clearly remember the prometric employees laughing about the no-shows who didn't even call first and assumed that the center was closed (although even they were angry that they had to be there!)

If they do close they'll contact you next week to reschedule.

I'm betting the center will be closed. I also have my AUD exam on Friday morning. My prometric location (long island, ny) closed today and the storm is not hitting till Thursday night.

Does anybody know how the reschedule works due to weather cancellation?

I'm just keeping an eye on the site MLA posted. My test is scheduled for Monday and we are supposed to be getting the storm today/tomorrow, plus another one Sunday into Monday and my NTS expires next Thursday. But I read somewhere about contacting NASBA about the expiration and they may extend it because of the weather, but you have to wait it out and see if Prometric even closes first.

I really do hope it gets cancelled. I noticed that a lot of the test centers in MA have been closed today but the Boston test center, which is where I'm taking it tomorrow, is not on the list. I've tried a calling them a few times but no one answers, and I have yet to get an email or a call from them. If I can't reach them than I probably won't go tomorrow cause I really don't want to drive in the snowstorm. But I need an official notice if they are closed so that NASBA will extend my NTS. Do you think that the main Prometrics number would know more?

LOL MLA! I am in PA, so I'm not sure about you for the snow on Monday. I'm just stating from my local weather lol. I don't even know how much we are supposed to get, I just know there is another one coming on Sunday night that is more of a wintry mix with snow/rain/ice. Oh the joys of winter in the Northeast!
