OP could be a masters student that graduates in May, acamp. Or IDK, might want extra time for the CPA exam.

Anyway, probably just best to ask the recruiter/PwC…

Yes, you should be able to contact your recruiter and request a different start date.

I currently work at Deloitte and was able to change my start date with no problems.

My opinion is they wouldn't be all that accommodating if the reason is for the cpa exam. A good chunk of my start group hadn't even sat for an exam when we started. and it seems to be the norm to be taking it while you're working (although some people do knock it out beforehand)
