If you are approved to sit for an exam in one state, for example Colorado and if you want to transfer to another state like Montana, do you have to resubmit your transcripts so the Montana board can determine your eligibility to sit for the exam?

The question needs to go to Montana State Board of Accountancy. I think they will ask for transcripts. All states are sort of independent and will need there full paper work.

I did some quick research and here is what I found, in the event anyone one else was curious to know.

Montana is a two-tiered licensing state. To obtain a certificate (inactive status), you must have passed all four

sections of the exam, earned credit under circumstances comparable to those applicable to Montana candidates

at the time the credits were earned and meet the education requirement at the time the exam was taken. There

is no residency requirement and a social security number is not necessary to obtain a certificate
