Close to REG exam, should I skip rewriting notes?

My exam for REG is 4/1. I was hoping to start rewriting my notes this week, but I am still trying to get 90% on all of the becker homework. I should be done with that by tonight.

That leaves me with nine days.

Is it better to use my time to just hammer away MCQs until exam day, or take a couple of days to condense my notes?

    Everything took longer than expected.

I would focus on mcq's- that will be much much more beneficial

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd

Thanks. I was leaning toward that, but I just needed to hear it from someone else.

i am taking REG on same date too!

So far I have gone thru summary note I have made for both tax and business law various times. I have almost memorized whole note. Solved all BISK problems and now i am doing MCQ on becker review.

It seems like memorizing all the details was a lot easier compare to applying to actual questions. Even though I feel pretty confident with materials, I am still getting several questions wrong so I am planning on focusing more time onMCQ until the exam date. Also planning on doing releaesed questions from 2008-2012 and take it as my practice test. According to my experience, I get same score on my actual exam almost same as average score on those released questions. I make sure to use stop watch so I can make to solve 50 questions in 50 minutes.

Hope this is helpful for you and good luck on your exam !

I see that you're aiming for the Becker Promise. Let me just tell you that the Becker Promise is pretty useless. The only thing I believe they pay for is your tuition fee. And that is like nothing if you think about it. Unless you're taking a live class, the Becker Promise doesn't apply to you. And I won't be the first to say that live courses isn't imperative to pass the CPA exam.

However, you SHOULD be doing the MC. I cannot stress this enough. Its more important than rewriting notes. You gotta be doing a minimum of around 150-200 MCs per day. Do Progess Tests and structure them into 24MC blocks. If you can try to do them while offline because you're gonna get distracted by the your email, facebook, youtube, etc. It'll really slow down your progress. You'll be surprised how quickly you can go through 100 MC if you go offline.

However, you need to know your material. If there is a formula right now that you still havent committed to memory than sit down and force feed yourself. Don't make any assumptions about the exam and definitely make no excuses.

    Good luck!

Becker shuts off your software after 18 months unless you have fulfilled your end of the promise and have failed the test anyway. So, you need to make sure you fulfill your end of the deal or risk having to re-pay to work problems and see the videos.

I've run in to some grumpy customer service people on their end trying to extend my promise date for REG. They wanted me all done by April 24th, which is impossible now due to unexpected travel for work (5 trips in 8 weeks). They did extend it til 5/31, but said I have to have all work done and submitted by that date, or I won't have fulfilled my end of the deal and they will shut my software off at the end of the 18 months unless I pay for the software all over again.

They're strict as heck about their software use and their customer service people are not very understanding about real life issues that come up.

I am doing live classes. I am aiming for Becker Promise just in case I failed. I am going to use the Becker promise for BEC. Going to live classes keeps me more accountable for doing the MCQs.

I did finish all the Becker MCQs and I moved onto the REG Wiley book MCQs a couple of days before the exam.

    I hope it was enough.
