I have already started studying for BEC, Done with one chapter. What should i do? should i continue studying for BEC and appear for BEC exam? or should i start studying FAR…

Do you get score only online or am i suppose to get an email from nasba? or else is there any other method to check the score?

Rhea, I'm sorry you didn't pass. I think that you should decide what you more want to study right now. I haven't sat for BEC yet, but I enjoy managerial accounting. I do think that FAR needs to be passed early in the process since it is such a huge exam (but they all are).

    REG - Nov 4, 2013: 88
    FAR - Feb 27, 2014: 86
    AUD - April 5, 2014: 91
    BEC - May 6, 2014: 83

    Quinacridone,

Is this your first time taking FAR? this is my first time and I really find that Becker lectures very long. I had the Becker final review and I'm tempted to only watch those lectures, then do the MCQs from chapters and final exams and work on wiley TB for a month. rewrite the Ninja notes. what do you think?

@Rhea It doesn't matter if it is 40 or 74, both means: fail.

    This is my opinion:

If you paid already BEC, start fresh and write it in the date you originally set it up. Is a new exam so disconnect yourself from failure from FAR. Put your heart and soul on BEC, and you will pass

Once that BEC is done, come back to FAR with more confidence, re-study as if it is your last exam and if necessary complement with other material 🙂

Hardly you will find your study method quickly.. Good luck!

I think you should move on to BEC too. You may be like me and need the confidence booster of passing an exam before you return to one that you have already failed. If you had gotten a score in the 70s I would have said to go back to it because you were so close and obviously knew a lot of the material, but with a score in the 40's I think it's possible that you just need to go to BEC because it's less material with less journal entries and IMO less trickiness. You need to find out how you study best, which I'm still working on learning about myself and I'm working on my fourth test. I'm sure it's the way you studied and not that you aren't capable. Study hard for BEC and build your confidence some and then go back to tackle FAR.

I had to pass FAR twice because I passed it first and last. You don't want to have to pass the beast but once! Stick with BEC. Now you know what this exam is like. It is a confidence killer, so don't study for a 75. Study for a 95!

Cairoseattle, yes, this was my first time with FAR. I skipped a lot of the lectures in Beckers because I felt like my time could be better spent reading the chapters and then writing summaries of the chapters. I had heard that tip from someone else (writing summaries in your own words). My “summaries” are pretty long though, sometimes 10 to 15 pages, and I sprinkle example problems as well as JEs.
