Has anyone directly contacted a public accounting recruiter and sent them your resume? I work in industry and I’m trying to break into public so I was wondering if I contacted a recruiter directly maybe they would be willing to speak about future positions.

Yes I have done that before. I have found recruiters on LinkedIn, reached out to them, and they normally would get back to me within 48 hours.
